Does neone kno if theres a way to naturally highlight African American hair, like with herbs or lemon juice? I want to highlight my hair but not have to use harsh chemicals!

I suggest going to you stylist, as far as I have heard there is not natural way to highlight hair w/o damaging it. Lemon juice actually makes damages your hair worse than chemicals.

Yeah you could try a rinse highlight but they are temporary and more work to apply if you just want higlights because thier made to go on the entire head of hair. But if you make sections and separate them with plastic and apply the rinse, then set with heat, its semi permanant and very safe. I used a rinse called "Jazzing" by Clarol- you can buy a small bottle at sally`s for 3.79 and it is as safe as water! It has no peroxide or ammonia and it didnt do anything more than color my hair. THe downside is that its semi permanant and that the color may fade, BUT you can apply it as much as you need and even after a relaxer. Please stay away from permanant dyes! Those things are not joke- I did highlights on mine and they came out horrible. THe color was dull and dry looking so I just went back to my original black color with a rinse. I have no complaints!
