I took my braids out just this Tuesday. I trimmed my hair and straightened it with a straightening comb. When should I put a perm in? Two to three weeks? Please help. I'm trying to get my hair growing healthy. I haven't permed it since Feb 2003. Recently, I've been straightening my hair in between braid touch ups. It look pretty conditioned and good but how do I get to grow long. I've been wearing braids off and on since July of 2002 and my hair is just growing thicker instead of longer. When I have braids I keep my scalp conditioned and oiled with hot oil treatments weekly and Pantene shampoo and conditioner. What should I do different? Should I continue wearing braids?

| When you ready to get perm, TWO WEEKS after straightening.
Have you trimmed between braid touch-ups, if you have a good regimen?
Maybe you need a good food for your body and hair. Because "your body can grow your hair" long by eating more nutritious foods than too much junk.
Read this page of the site: http://www.growafrohairlong.com/braidr.html - The Braid Extension Regimen Used To Grow Afro Hair Long I know this is for the braid EXTENSION ladies.
Anyway, you can continue wearing the braids.
