Hi, I just wanted to know i anyone has ever tried a liquid har relaxer. My brother bought one from the store, but decided that he wasn't going to use it. I have wavy/curly hair thats mid way down my back. I have always wanted my hair to be straighter, so I was thinking of using the liquid relaxer. I also don't want to mess up my hair, so I'm a little afraid of using it. Has anyone tried it before and can tell me there experience of it? I don't want my hair to go completely relaxed and straight. I just want it to be straighter than it is now, and easier for me to straighten when want i straight. Thanks for all the help.

What you need is a Dominican or other Afro-Latina hairstylist. I was told this by a Puerto Rican lady, who gets a texturizing type procedure done. She said Dominicans do this best, since they have a mixture of hair types. She said they put in the liquid used in curly perms, except they don't roll the hair or use all the other stuff. You would be perfect for this since you have virgin hair, but people with a relaxer can't do it. I don't have all the info, I just know a Dominican or Puerto Rican stylist will do a better job for you than an African American. I'm Black, but I swear, sisters just don't understand my African-Indian-Caucasian hair. I am way overprocessed and looking for a way out, as well as one of those Dominican hairstylists. DO NOT RELAX YOUR HAIR YET, until you find out about 'silkening' or 'texturizing'. I wish I could go backwards and would have never gotten a relaxer.
