I recently colored my hair. Before the color, it was thick and then I waited 3 weeks and got a relaxer. Needless to say, in the last week (2 weeks since the relaxer) I have been experiencing rapid hair shedding and breakage. I purchased the new Pantene for Women of Color about a week ago and am wondering if that has caused my hair breakage along with the color. The first few days after the perm I was doing fine. Has anyone else experienced negative results with Pantene for Women of Color? What would you recommend as far as vitamins or herbs that may help stop the breakage? Help me...

The AAPantene line isn''t that great, it has mineral oil in it which isnt good for alot of people''s hair. Maybe try something like Infusium. For vitamins you can take a multi, silica, biotin and MSM.

Motions CPR works excellent on breakage.

It made my natural hair soft but frizzy and made it feel thin. It worked better on my moms afro type hair.

Have you been doing any deep conditionings since the coloring and perm? Keeping your hair moisturized might work because coloring and perming can put major work on your hair.

I dont know- I dont particularly care for the pantene conditioner for women of color but i use the shampoo after I color my hair, because it makes it softer. tbc's blow dry lotion is a great conditioner and makes you feel like you just had a perm, even if its been weeks.

I done really care for the pantene for women of color, it weighs my hair down and it feels greasy.

As far as shedding and breakage, you might just be noticing it more because your hair is newly colored but you need to have a deep oil treatment once a week (pure olive oil works great and lasts longer than store bought versions) and I enjoy paul mitchell for color shampoo and conditioner. For a less expensive brand creme of nature is excellent!

You color a perm, never perm color... You should have permed your hair first. You need deep penetrating conditioners(reconstructors) and deep moisturizing...there is really nothing that will resverse this...The Pantene did not do it. In addition you were supposed to wait 6-8 weeks...Just keep clipping the split ends and use a reconstructor @ least 1 a week for the next month and ten 1 a month there after......
