Hi Tina, I'm part Asian too but not Chinese, my mom is Japanese. I put oil in my hair as well but as for hairstyles, I'm pretty lost. I usually wear it in a bun or down and put some kinda of decorative clip in.

Hey. It might be a good idea to search for pictures of hairstyles on the internet. There are lots of picture sites out there. Then when you find some you like, post the picture in the General Hair Talk Forum. Someone in that forum will probably be able to tell you how to achieve the look. Here's a starter. http://www.2hairstyles.com/ - http://www.2hairstyles.com/

Ok...so you got your hair str8...how did she str8n it? Be careful not to do it often b/c heat is not good for your hair...I love my hair str8 too but love my length more!!...good luck...... As far as styles....um...ther really arent any for long hair..I struggl w/ that too

Onazia - There are lots of hairstyle to wear for straight hair. She can still wear braids, decorative buns, ponytails, or just wear it down (with or without added curls).
As for me, I'm just too lazy to do them.
Straight hair is great and easier to take care of than curly hair. For me anyway.

my hair is naturally curly too...im mixed (dad is from india) mom is black, and before i used relaxers i would just use lots of mouse and gel and blow dry for about 5 minutes. it leaves your curls defined and shiny and the hairstyle is really easy to do. it takes about 10 minutes at most.

i love gel because it gives my hair the"wet" look.. i dont really like mouse b/c it nvr really moisturizes my hair enough... but i havent used it in a while so...... i mostly use oil and that gives me the best moisturizing i can get

Well, I don't have long hair, nor am I female, but I suppose that you can try a variety of things:
- Your current style - Ponytail - Cornrows - Leave it long, but curly (curling-iron, maybe?)
Just don't use too much heat..
..good luck!

i too am mixed. but more than you. i'm everthing from black to native american to italian. so hair styles are hard to find. but yes, straightening does open plenty more doors for styles. just be careful not to damage.

oh yeah a good one is Redkin Heat Glide Smooth down and Ion Heat Protectant ( u can get it at Sally's) WHen i put the straightner to my hair i Like to put those and alittle dab of SIlk Therapy from Biosilk...makes hair look as smooth and shiny as silk. I think these things may work since u and I might just have the same texture hair.
