Hi, I would love to wear my hair smooth & slicked down like Josephine Baker:

My hair is thick & is fine/medium in texture...Her hair looks smooth & soft...They could do this style 80-100 years ago, so I figure it could be done today & her hair could hold up like that through dancing...How would I go about doing this style, what products would I have to use, how long would the style last? Would the products I would have to use, make my hair stiff & flaky or really greasy or hard?
I figured this might be a really great style for the heat, humidity, & sweat of the summer months...
Thanks

well stiff since the hair style seem to be pasted to her face...lol
but wash your hair while its wet put in the style, looks similar to a wrap but instead of coming out the style u will be wearing the actual style. place setting lotion on it or u can put setting lotion in it right before u style it and then sit under a dryer

My sister had her hair like that a couple of years ago. She tried her best to o it herself but evnetually took a picture of Toni Braxton to a hairdresser and she watched the hairdresser do it and bought the same gel and comb as the hairdresser used and did it herself after that.

Hi, I tried this & it was actually pretty easy...Since my cut, my hair is now really short...I used Black n' Sassy's Creamy Setting Creme to make my hair lie flat & shape it...That was easy & once I dried under the hair dryer I was done...I did find that I had to apply a little of Setting Creme each day to keep it looking its freshest...However, the jar says "no flaking" , but it does after a couple of days...It makes very tiny yellow flakes in the hair...Do you think wearing my hair like this every week would cause breakage from the Setting Creme?? I think this'll be a great style for the hot summer sun...

As long as the creme doesn't contain alcohol like a lot of gels that cause the hair to break, I think everything would be fine. Is the creme heavy in order to make it stick like that? No offense, but if it's heavy is that easy to maintain for the hot summer?
