I got my hair cut to the middle of my ears a while back and now it is to my collarbone. As it is getting longer the roots are thick but the ends are thinner (but not damaged looking) than before the cut. Does anyone have advice or experienced this before? Is there a vitamin supplement or hair product I could use. I stopped relaxing my hair about 6 months ago.

Trim your ends and concentrate on moisturizing. Make sure the moisturizer makes it to your ends as they are the oldest and most fragile part of your hair. I use parnevue leave-in conditioner. I also use shea butter and try using light essential oils such as wild growth hair oil, tea tree oi, sweet almond oil, carrot oil, jojoba olive oil, etc. etc. Try deep conditioning on a week with a good reconstructor like henna n placenta( the brown and white pack). I also have a post on here that lists my vitamin regime. Hope this elps and best of luck to you.

Thnx Carameldiva, your response was very helpful. My ends are trimmed, I use Parnevu T-Tree Oil and my hair is fairly well moisturized, it doesnt feel or look dry and it seems to be growing out well,it's just the longer it grows the thinner the ends look. You gave me some advice about the oils, should I get these oils and put them together or find products with these oils in them?

You can mix or use them individually. U can use them as a pre-shampoo treatment or hot oil treatment after shampooing. Or you can just rub some on your scalp when it feels dry.

i just went to the store...well i had to go to the store well they sell bongs and stuff to find these essential oils lol

anyways...i bought some desert sage it smells better than just regular sage...it has a sweeter scent or something

ok so i put a few drops in a spray bottle, mixed it with the smart balance i use as a hot oil treatment ( it contains canola oil, soy oil, and olive oil) and emptied 2 capsules of vitamin E and filled the rest of the bottle up with water to dilute it... it smells sweet and really does the work....i learned to do this stuff by reading lots of sights to get ideas of what other people do.

Are your ends really thinning or are your hairs growing at different rates?

My hair is very long, but the hairs on the back of my head, grow considerably slower than the hair on the top of my head. The top grows about 1 inch a month, the back grows about .5 inches a month. My ends look thin because of it. I just have to keep cuttin until the other parts catch up.

Isis, Ya know what? I think that may have somethin' to do with it. The cut I got last year was layered and now that my hair is growing out is still not even. So that does play a major part of it (duh Nikki). It's just that b4 I had my hair cut last year I had always had long even hair and I did not have to use oils and hair regimens to keep it healtthy but sense I got my hair cut it hasn't been the same. Because of that I dont regularly to get my hair trimmed, my mom (once a beauty school student) does it now. Thanks

well i do know one side of my hair use to be longer than the other not that much different but it was bad enough to me...didnt matter to me tho cause i dont like to wear my hair down. I just trimmed that side more than the other side and then it reached the longer side
