Hey everyone. I got microbraids for my graduation in late May... now I'm thinkin about taking them out... and I've noticed that my hair is thinning... which I figured I would expect but it's thinning even worse tan I had anticipated. . This summer I am doing some sports and goin to the pool, and I would like to know if anyone knows a product that can keep my hair from thinning and start growing in length and thickness... Also, I am been told that gettin a perm after braids will damage your hair. So, is there any type of trick or product that i can get my hair to be curly and NOT nappy? |

Definitely wait at least 3-4 weeks after you take your braids out to perm. Recondition your hair first. Try deep conditioning w/plastic cap under the hair dryer for 15-30 mins after shampooing and also you may want to consider purchasing the black woman's guide to beautiful hair by lisa akbari.
