I know some alcohols are bad for your hair. Is SD alcohol 40-B one of them? Because my mom gave a polishing mist to me and that's the first ingredient. I just sprayed it on my hair and I bent over to spray the back and got some in my nose and it burned my nose.

Yes, that is a very bad, drying one. Don't use it.

Good ones are ceteryl alcohol and stearyl alcohol. Both of them are suppossed to be good, but my hair responds best to ceteryl alcohol, I tend to avoid even stearyl alcohol.

So, I'm guessing Alcohol Denat. is bad too? in The Matrix sleek.look iron smoother that is the second ingredient.
