A few months ago I started going to this beautician. My hair was pretty damaged so they gave me a nice mid ear length bob. It appeared healthy and was growing fast. The longer it got the worse it started to look. They didn't clip the front just the back. I recently had my hair put in a ponytail for about a week because there was nothing to do with it. So uneven. When I took it out and washed it strains of hair was coming out. I don't know what to do. I am military, if I get my haiir cut now. I have no beautician to keep it up. Does any one have any advice?

Well, part of the reason hair was coming out was because it was in a ponytail for a week. It was matting down.
I say keep the hairstyle, just get it trimmed now and in future make sure that your hairdresser trims it all the way around. If you look in the mirror and it's not trimmed right, don't pay for it until it is.
Do you have any friends in the service that can evenly trim hair? Ask them if they'd be willing to help you keep it up.
Good luck

Are u using alot of heat? How often do you moisturize your hair? Did you take it out of the pony tail, if not its probably just hair shedding from the previous week.

I'm also Active Duty military and I have found it easier to maintain my hiar in braids. I wore braids for a while until I asked around and visited a few salons to find the best stylist for my type of hair.

Perhaps you won't relate to what I'm going to say, but there comes a point when your hair is damaged from relaxers, etc. that you have to have to toughen your resolve and go - yes- Natural. If you are in the Military it would be the best option because you wouldn't have to fuss with it. Just use the time to give your hair a break. I do this about every 2 years and when my hair grows back it's healthy and strong. I get it relaxed and start all over. Don't be afraid, your hair will grow back. Afterall, didn't grow back before? Just remember that while your hair is Natural, to keep it clean and condition it with good quality hair products. Alternate with moisturizing and Hi - Protein conditioners. And use nice grooming aids so that your hair always looks radiant. There are some texturizing gel products that will give your hair definition. Apply these when hair is wet and either air dry or use a dryer/diffuser. Give yourself at least 90 days like this before relaxing again with the right relaxer for your hair type. You won't be sorry. Once relaxed, take better care of your hair with deep, regular conditioning and washing. And don't be afraid to keep your ends trimmed. Tell your stylist that you only want your ends clipped. A Natural Do for a brief period of time is not the end of the world.
