My hair becomes thin after a relaxer. I relax every 6 weeks. A product with sodium hydroxide is used. Any suggestions?

My hair is in bad shape for it is also thinning breaking off and very week from braids and relaxers. i am going to have to go to a TWA and wear wigs until it is long enough for stylish cornrows. I am going natural and getting my hair presses. I am going to use Pantene Prov products and design essentil. My sister grew hers out for 6 years and it is past her shoulders and it very healthy.

Don't relax every 6 weeks. Wait a little longer. I'm unsure of your hairtype, but many people can wait a lot longer than 6 weeks. Even a 4b can wait 8 weeks or more comfortably.
This helps your scalp not to be in contact with the relaxer as often.
Also, if you stylist is giving you burns or irritation constantly at touch up time, find a better one. Even if you go to them only for touchups. A properly applied relaxer doesn't burn... if it does damage the scalp at all the damage is minimal.

I have naturally fine hair and when i relax, my hair becomes really thin till i start having new growth then it gets a little more volume. That would be about 8 weeks. So i advise you to stretch your relaxer a little longer.
