I've heard alot of girls here rant about doing this. I've tried it once and my hair was very soft. But what about build up? Do you still use a conditioner or shampoo? Does your hair feel clean with just conditioner? Also what kind do you use? I'm sorry to say I'm still a bit of a skeptic but maybe you can convince me otherwise.

Honey when I do my conditioner wash I use two types of conditioner. First I use VO5 kiwi and lime this is a clarifying conditioner I go through the shampoo method with this one. Then I follow up with one of my other conditioners NTM mask or Aussie 3 min miracle and I will sit under the dryer for about 10-20 mins. I still use poo some times too. If I wash my hair 10 times a month I will use shampoo 2 times.

I condition wash once like a tuesday a week and use shampoo on saturday follwed by a conditioner. Conditioners do have some of the same ingredients as shampoo, but is more gentle, it is more of the hand friction against the scalp and hair that removes the dirt that you are trying to get rid of.
Yes, I feel clean and smell goood and my hair loves it. U can use a gentler shampoo if you feel it is not for you.

I wash my hair a lot in the summer because I have a pool. As everyone knows chlorine is a killer for your hair and a killer with a machine gun if you already have dry hair. I have very dry hair. my hair actually turns a shade of greenish yellow from it. I started to use just conditoner a few years back and it got that killer out of my hair better then a shampoo because it wasn't dry after I used it unlike when I used shampoo. Unless your hair is naturally very oily there is no need for shampoo.

I have been doing conditioning washes for two weeks and all is well so far. I do them 2-3 times per week and I shampoo and deep condition once per week. No build-up so far and my hair is always soft and moisturized. I also have a nice sheen and curl definition for my 4a hair type.

Started Conditioning Wash sometime last year
my hair always got so tangled after shampoo it was hard to put the Conditionor in so I was like Bump that!
I loved it when I heard other people talking about it I was SO happy
Now I do it alot almost every day
I did feel bad so I brought some Shampoo a few weeks ago not as tangly as it was before i think all the conditionor may have helped with that!
but I have only used Shampoo like maybe 10 times since summer 2004!

I tried to do the conditioner wash and maybe I was using the wrong conditioner because my scalp was itchy and I had to shampoo. I am thinking about trying again, but what conditioners would you guys suggest?

Yea condition washes are good for the winter, but in the summer hair tends to sweat and you need shampoo to kill bacteria in the scalp.

Shampoo doesn't kill bacteria, it just dissolves away skin, oils, and sweat. You just need to clean your hair more often in the summer if you sweat a lot, and you can do it with conditioner, too.
I never shampoo anymore, and it's been almost a year. Last summer was fine.

I condition wash now once a week and shampoo once every other week. I use VO5 Strawberries n' Creme and it does a good job. I condition with something else afterwards.

I am starting to condition wash. I wash my hair every four days so I alternate. On wednesday I condition washed so I plan on Sunday to shampoo my hair but I dilute the shampoo first.
