I have a very full head of fine hair. I have lots of it¡K I'm a natural blonde and wanted to go Red. I used a red hue I like and it turned out great. Here is the bad part- A friend suggested we highlight the same day. She seemed to know what she was doing so we did. It turned this very brassy orange on top. I then tried to re-dye with a bit darker red and the ends are a different shade as the top of my had (where the highlights where suppose to be) I ended up putting a toner on it to get the bright orange out and it's settled down. My question is- How the crap do I get the top of my head the same color as my ends? I love the way the ends turned out, but you can see where we put the highlighting solution. Any suggestions? If at all possible I'd like to keep from spending $ at a salon. LOL Hence my problem

Well you seem to be in a little predicament aren't you? I can totally agree to this though. I have fine blonde hair as well and decided to go a nice dark brown. Well lets just say mine turned a lovely green/gray/maroon color so I decided to use a lighter blonde dye to "lighten" the color back out. Yeah right. That was a horrible idea. As much as you probably don't want to hear this you need to go to a hairdresser. A good reputable one at that too. You've done so much to your hair that by using another home color thing it could react and make things worse. That's what hairdressers get trained for. I ended up spending more money trying to fix things on my own than by going to the hairdresser in the first place. Hope this helps. | I am having the same problem with reddish on top, blonde ends and I have been going to a salon. I don't know if it is possible to get it right. I am tempted to go back to brown then rehighlight. I am sorry I ever started on the all over color thing. I thought it would be easier and cheaper but I was WRONG! I think you do need a salon though. Color is nothing to mess around with. |

I have had this same problem, but my colorist found a solution! She used a gloss (toner) on the top and then stripped all the old, ash color from the bottom (which looked green compared to the gold at my roots). She also put lowlights in throughout my hair. The result is even, blonde/golden hair. Good luck!!!! ------------- |
