Hi,
This board was created for all of us to talk about cosmetic surgery of any type. I personally am fascinated by Botox and have heard all the good and the bad. I also am interested in laser work and wish I knew more about cosmetic dental surgery.
Please help me keep this board full of interesting topics. Thank you for your participation.

Starburst,
I, too, am fascinated by Botox but yet a little hesitant because of the negative things I have heard. I realize that it all lies in the hands of the particular doctor that you go to though. I am about to turn 30 and I have some wrinkles between my eyebrows that really bother me.
However, I didn't know if you had heard of StriVectin-SD?? I just recently read in the September issue of Lifetime magazine (published by the cable channel Lifetime for Women) about it. It is an alternative to Botox, without the negative aspects, or so it reads. It was originally developed for stretch marks, however by accident it was discovered to work wonderfully for wrinkles.
To copy out of the article: the spokesperson for Klein-Becker, StriVectin-SD's exclusive distributor says that when they started handing out samples of the product they were hearing feedback that the women looked younger, and to their surprise the women were putting it on wrinkles, not just stretch marks.
Subjects in the study applied the cream once a day for 2 months, then twice a day for the next 2 months. Using special image analysis, the study proved significant improvement in wrinkle depth, length, wrinkle volume & skin roughness. At the 2 month halfway point, the peptide solution thickened skin nearly 1.5 times faster than retinol.
Anyways, I could keep copying more of the article but don't want to bore you. Since you mentioned Botox, I thought you might be interested in knowing about this.
The drawback is that a 6 ounce tube of it costs $135 directly from the maker at www.StriVectin.com, 800-460-2293 xSD268. The article says if it is used as an anti-wrinkle cream then one tube will last 6 months. It also lists Neiman Marcus (hard to find one that has it), Saks 5th Avenue (can order it for you), Nordstrom (always try to keep it in stock) or the pregnancy section of your local GNC or a high end supplement pharmacy.
If you want to see the entire article, you can email me (dana073@aol.com) and I can send it to you.
