Hello. Has anyone seen the infomercials for the True Ceramic Pro straightener? Of course, it looks too good to be true. I rarely trust anything advertised in an infomercial. They do not let you know how much it will actually cost, only that you can try it for free plus S&H. I do like ceramic straighteners much more than others; I have the Jilbere. I am just wondering if anyone has tried this & has any opinions of why it may be better than others. Thanks!
Peace, endlessnite

Exactly why is it supposed to be so much better? Do they say?

I believe they say it is better because the plates are 100% ceramic. The others are supposedly only ceramic coated. Who knows? The Jilbere does work so much better than any other straightening iron that I've tried. I have no idea if the plates are only coated though. (or if it matters..)

Ah, I see. Yes, I've heard that claim about a very few other irons that claim to be 100% ceramic. The problem is finding someone who actually has one, as most people are just getting around to using a flatiron that has 'ceramic' plates.
Prolly a dumb question, but have you Googled it? A lot of the time in googling a flat iron I came across reviews by accident...

I JUST HAPPEN TO STUMBLE UPON THIS SITE, AND I READ WHAT YOU WROTE. IRONICALLY I ORDERED THE TRUE CERAMIC PRO 3 MONTHS AGO AND FINALLY IT ARRIVED JUST TWO DAYS AGO. IT WORKS. I HAVE LONG HAIR AND THIS IRON STRAIGHTEN MY HAIR IN LESS THAN HALF HOUR. IT REALLY WORKS! IT DOES! AND IM SO HAPPY. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANY ONE WHO WANTS THEIR HAIR TAMED AND STRAIGHT ALL THE TIME. DID I MENTION IT WORKS! I TOO WAS SKEPTICAL BUT IM GLAD I DECIDED TO ORDER IT. IT'S WORTH THE MONEY!

i suffered through a bout of insomnia about a month back and saw the true ceramic pro informercial. i have very long, thick, dry, course, frizzy hair. my stylist said it's just the "nature of the beast" and never would i have the soft, smooth, silky hair i desired. not true!!
i bought the true ceramic pro basically because they allowed me to evaluate it for 30 days only paying the cost of shipping. i didn't figure it would work, but at least for my $15.99 i'd get to keep the hairbrush and styling clips. boy was i wrong. this thing is a godsend. i typically shower and then i blow dry my hair (something i would have never done before the true ceramic pro). it then takes me about half an hour to straighten my hair and it makes a world of difference. it's not only straight but SLEEK! no more fly-aways. definitely worth every penny. i live in dry southern california so i can't comment on the humidity factor. but i'd love to see how my hair holds up in humid conditions.
one thing i have noticed is if i try to curl my hair like on the infomercial, it doesn't last as long as they claim. i have extremely thick hair so i thought it would hold a curl, but after a few hours the curl is more like a wave. not really a bad thing, but if you've got fine hair and want to use it as a curling device, it might not work that well. but if you've got thick, course hair like i do, i highly recommend giving it a try. i've easily spent 2-3 times as much as the iron cost on styling products that simply don't work. this is the end of the line for me!

yes, i've actually never have seen the infomercials, but it was absolutely amazing. I have very curly hair that gets frizzy easily, and really did straighten my hair (and left it REALLY soft). I would recommend it for ANYONE because if i can get through my hair, it can work on anyone.

ok i have really really long curly hair and i saw the infomercials about ceramic pro. i was really phsyched and planned on buying it when i realised that it said free for 30 days and wanted to know the real price if u wanted to keep it. I looked on google and found that it was 150! way to much! so should i buy this hairart one instead is it 65 dollars canadian and do u need a credit card?

I would assume for any site online you would need a credit card, or at least Paypal.

hey all, I bought the True Ceramic Pro and I totally love it... I have not tried any other ceramic irons so I can't compare them, however I think that it probably works better than most. I'm half black, so I have really curly and coarse hair. I have never been able to do my own hair, and even when I go to get it done, it doesn't turn out nearly as good as with this iron... first of all, I don't even have to blow dry it first, and it makes my hair really soft and super straight. The BEST part of it however is that humidity doesn't affect it at all... of course you can't stand in the rain, but no amount of moisture in the air will change it. I don't know how the price compares, but I think the total came to $140 ish.... pricey, but it costs at least $40 every time I went to the salon. Anyway... LOVE this iron.

i have 3 straighteners in my cabinet that probably cost me $100 combined over the years. not to mention the hundreds of dollars i've spent on shampoos, conditioners, hair masks, anti-frizz serums, creams, gels and foams. nothing has worked on defrizzing and straightening my thick, very dry, very course hair as well as the true ceramic pro. it's pricey but for me it's worth every penny since i know i'll never need another one of those other products again.
as for the sprays that come with it, i went on a trip recently and did not pack the sprays. i noticed a difference in the way my hair looked and felt. the straightener still worked well, but i like the look and feel of my hair better if i include the heat and shine spray. i think the shine spray truly adds a nice finish at the end. plus i like the smell :)

I just bought the True Ceramic Pro on Tuesday of last week. I really appreciate the testimonials from people on this site because I was really skeptical about buying it. Hopefully I get it soon, and when I do, I''ll let ya''ll know how it works.
Believe me, if it can clean up the nappy mess on my head, it''ll work for ANYONE.

i don't know if it actually works or not but i was intrigued by it. the only thing is i didn't know the price but i called them and the actual cost after the 30 day trial is 160 USD plus taxes so the total is 175 USD plus taxes kind of prices. just today i found out you can by the same product at the mall in a store called "as seen on tv" or something like that for about half the price.

the price for the true ceramic pro is 119 and 15.99 for shipping and tax. Total amount is 140. i dont think it's in the stores yet.

i have a straightener from Helen of Troy and it works but sometimes at the end of the day it kinda frizzes up a bit. i saw this infomercial and wanted to know how it works. can you hold the other end of the straightener as you straighten your hair or does that part heat up as well? because i''m afraid of burning my fingers. i bought my straightener at a beauty store for about $40 and i''m not sure if i would spend that much money for another straightener, but if i was to, i''d just like to know how it works exactly.

UPDATE!!! UPDATE!!! UPDATE!!! PLEASE SEE MY NEW POSTING ABOUT THE TRUE CERAMIC PRO ON PAGE 3!!!
I just wanted to let everyone know the official website of the true ceramic pro is: www.advancedbeautysolutions.com or you can type www.trueceramicpro.com and you will get the same website. The iron is $119.97 not $140.00. If you buy the iron by itself it is $119.97 + $3.99 s/h for a total of $123.96. If you want the iron with the accesories such as the true cool carrying case, styling clips, heat & play spray, thermal styler, ionic comb and brush, dvd, and more the price is $119.97 + $14.99 s/h for a total of $134.96. I would advise anyone who is interested in the true ceramic pro to go to the official site. There you can order online at their website or you can call their official toll free number to order by phone. It is a really nice website showing before and afters, easy step by step guides, more information on the true ceramic pro and what exactly it does for your hair, and you can see all of their abs approved products! I hope that this information can be of some help to anyone who is interested in the true ceramic pro.
Jesus loves you!

I ordered the True Ceramic Pro about three weeks ago and just received it today. What a GODSEND! I admit that it is a bit pricey, but my mother treated me to it for my 19th birthday. I think the whole total came up to something like $119.00. But I feel it's totally worth it, considering you get the hair clips, paddle brush, two bottles of styling products, fine tooth comb, and carrying case for all of it. Plus, you also get a 25 dollar certificate to their advanced beauty solutions products. I'm planning on buying a few of those as soon as I can.
The straightener is great. I just cut my hair super short yesterday unfortunately, but it's still long enough to straighten it. Let me tell you, that straightener did wonders. I have super thick straight hair that frizzes and puffs up when I blow dry it...but this straightener made it poker straight...not even my hot tools straightener could do that (and it totally fried my hair). All in all, I'd say that it was worth every penny. I can't wait until my hair grows out more so I can really put it to work.

Okay I said I'd post a review of my experience when I recieved the product and so here it is.
The True Ceramic Pro is absolutely wonderful. When it arrived and I opened up the package I was a little bit afraid because it was rather hastily packaged (the straightener was just wrapped in bubble wrap and thrown in there with everything else, and the DVD looked like a bootleg... not very professional). And when I first started to use it I was scared out of my mind because I was afraid it would scorch my hair or burn the h*** out of me (I had it turned all the way up to 400 degrees).
But all of my worries went out the window when I got into it. I had just washed my hair and it was a big puffy afro. By the time I was done I looked like I had just come from the salon. I did not burn my hair off or burn skin. I was AMAZED.
The true test, though, was today. I live in south Texas where it is extremely humid. I woke up this morning, smoothed my hair out with it and gave myself a little flip at the end. Let me tell you what, it's 10pm now and my hair is STILL almost just as nice as it was this morning... NO FRIZZ. I got so many complements today about my hair - I am so impressed.
So if you are skeptical about buying the TCP, just try it. Like I mentioned before, if it can tame my hair, it can tame ANYONE's. Plus the Shine Spray that it comes with smells really, really good!

The best straightening iron in the whole world is my Revelon flat iron. It looks to be something like gold plated...and it has like 25 heat settings! It's the best! I totally recomend you buy it...it's available at Wal-Mart...isn't that funny.
|
Posted By: Unregistered Guest
Date Posted: December 27 2004 at 2:43pm
I have the Revlon with 25 heat settings - if it''s the same one, it also has a little latch that you release to turn it into a curling iron, too? My latch broke about the time I saw the infomercial for the true ceramic pro. I bought a replacement and it''s not as good as the Revlon one. The ceramic plates DOES make a difference. I''ve looked at every flattening iron out there and they are ALL coated - even if they don''t say so on the package, they are. To get a real ceramic iron (which is supposedly better because of the way it heats your hair) you have to spend a hundred bucks. I think I''m on my way to order the true ceramic pro.
I''m not sure what the spray is they offer, but if you run out and their replacement is too pricy, try Silk Therapy (I got it from Mastercuts salon in the mall) - it smells FAB-U-LOUS!

Yes, I have seen the infomericals for this product. People say It has worked wonders but If you cannot afford it, I would recommed a product called RUSK™ You can purchase this at any, "Trade Secrets" Headquaters.

Conair has ceramic straighteners for a LOT less money that works very well for most consumers. Unless you are a professional, you don't need to spend $140 for a straightener. That is overkill for sure.
|
Posted By: Divalol2001
Date Posted: December 28 2004 at 7:39am
I wouldn't say it's overkill. Any ceramic straightener will definitely cost over 100 dollars if it's TRUE ceramic. Most of them are just ceramic coated and that's never good. The best thing about ceramic is that it isn't as damaging to the hair. Now if I had to decide between my regular Hot Tools straightener and my True Ceramic Pro, there would be no competition. My True Ceramic Pro is the best thing in the WORLD. The Hot Tools damaged my hair way too much anyway.

I read those replies, and i'm kind of getting convinced that the true ceramic pro works. I have long curly hair, and i just saw the infomercial today (I never tried it though). But when it came to the question of the prices, i kind of changed my mind about it. I mean, 14,99$ for the iron, but then it goes up to 150$ after shipping and handling? So basically if you try it for thirty days by only paying the s & h, you pay 150$ and don't get it back? That seems kind of weird to me. I figured the s&h wouldn't go over 20$. And it's very obvious that they're gonna use most of the shipping and handling money to cover the actual price of the iron.

I'm watching the informercial now and I'm very interested in buying, but like some women, I'm skeptical about the price. Does anyone know of another "true" ceramic iron out there, that is cheaper? Or where could I find this exact one, but less expensive? I can't honestly believe someone hasn't made a flat iron without real ceramic!

I just saw the infomercial for the true ceramic pro. The product looks exciting but then so did the revo styler before I bought it. I was just wondering if there are any black women who have tried this product. All these infomecials seem to have either half black half white women or full black women with a relaxer so there is no true reflection of me in these commercials.
Also, I looked at the hairart product. It does seem to be similar but I noticed that one of the comments made was that she could no longer wear her hair curly. (Scarlett on May 11, 2004) Has anyone else experiences this effect using either product? Personally I like my curly hair and would like the option of wearing it curly or straight.

| Hi I ordered this product just over a month ago, the infermerical looked great so I thought I'd try it also A bit weird though because they said if I paid full price right away they would send it out in 1 to 2 weeks, maybe I heard them wrong and they said 1 to 2 weeks quicker than if I were to pay by installments. I'm not sure I thought the former though. But reading another users comment about it taking 3 months or so, I guess maybe their orders are big and we just have to wait a while, more so now because of the Christmas holidays. Hope it works well.

Hey there. Wow, i saw the commercial once on television real late at night and ever since then, i've been yearning to see it again. I;m soooooooooo intrigued. I really appreciate all of ur comments on this product because i too, like many am skeptical on spending dat kind of money on an informercial product. A bunch of my friends buy like $150 -200 hair straighteners and just wait till i get mine and show them how much better it is, they'll just love it. Because of all ur testimonials, i'm so going to buy the tru ceramic pro a.s.a.p.
I agree with one of the women who commented earlier on whether or not the tru ceramic pro will also do wonders on african american women's hair type. Our hair is thicker, coarser and extremely vulnerable to damage of any kind. If this product actually works on my hair, i won't have to spend so much money on salons, relaxers and hair care products.
I'm going to try it for sure. Thanks.

True Ceramic is good but i bought a ceramic straightener and it works twice as as good, im black and my hair is frizzy but when i tried Corioliss it made my hair striaght and reall pretty and its only $80.00 it curl it straightens and its true ceramic. If you want a straightener as good as "True Ceramic Pro" I advise you to buy the Corioliss.

WOW!!! IT WORKS GREAT!!! THIS IS THE BEST IRON I HAVE EVER USED ON MY HAIR IN MY LIFE!!!
Hello,
I ordered the true ceramic pro by phone on 12-28-04 and it came yesterday, 1-4-05!!! I praise God! I was so surprised that it came so fast! Less than 7 business days! Wow!!!
Well, right away I opened the box and I could hardly wait to try it out. My hair was still damp from washing it, so I had to blow dry it. I liked the ionic brush that came with the iron because it seemed to make my hair softer. I am multiracial and I have very long hair (almost waistlength), but it is very curly, wavy, and tends to be very frizzy and looks very poofy in humid weather or when brushed with no water. Even though my hair may not appear coarse, I have very strong wave patterns and it was very hard to staighten my hair, even with a hot comb!.... not anymore!!! After I blow dried my hair, it was big and puffy. I was really praying that the iron would work on my hair also because God used my grandmother to get the true ceramic pro for me as a Christmas and Birthday gift and I didn't want her to waste her money on something that wouldn't work for me... so to make a long story short, I tested the tcp iron on a small section of my hair and I could hardly believe it! It looked great! My mother did one side of my hair and I did the other. My hair did not look dry and my ends did not look brittle! I praise God, it was so staight, soft, and healthy looking! This iron is the best iron that I have ever used on my hair in my life!!! My mom was even surprised! Usually I used to have to go over the same piece of hair over and over again to achieve any type of straightness only to end up with frizz after a few hours, but not with the true ceramic pro! From what I have experienced, this iron is well worth the money!
The real test was when I went outside, I live in Southern California, and currently we have had alot of rain and it has been very cold and damp outside. I usually never wear my hair down, but yesterday after using the true ceramic pro, I wore it mostly down, I went outside in the damp weather and my hair did not frizz out! Praise the Lord! Both my mom and I were amazed that my hair remained so straight in that kind of weather.
I just wanted to write this to encourage anyone with ethnic hair, to try the true ceramic pro. It's only $14.99 to try it for 30 days if you don't like it at least you get to keep the accesories just for trying it! Also, there is a 6 month warranty for the iron itself!
The ordering number is 888-80-STYLE and the official web address is www.advancedbeautysolutions.com
Additional Note: On the official website it might say $15.99 for s/h, but when I called and spoke to a representative, she charged me $14.99 for s/h, so maybe it would be a good idea to call the toll free number. This is the official number from the official website.
Jesus loves you!

I appreciate the feedback on this product, as I am interested in it too. I was wondering if any of you had the website or the phone number for the infomercial? I had found a few sites online that carry it, but did not find the site that gives you the $14.99 intro price to try it out.
Thanks for you help!

I am black and I have very unruly hair and, as you can tell from my previous reply, it works for me. And it's still going strong. I am a month past due for a relaxer and my hair is still looking fabulous. The roots could use some work cuz I'm still afraid to get that close to my scalp with it, but it looks great. I could post a picture if needed. :)

I just ordered the TCP and hopefully soon, I will recieve it. I'm really looking forward to trying it. I read alot of responses and so far eveything appears to of positive results. The true test for me will be on my oldest daughter's hair. She has thick long hair and about 1 1/2 years ago, I broke down and put a relaxer in it. We do it every six months, just to keep it soft and manageable, plus she's at that age she wants to comb it herself. She's 11 y/o. I hoping to grow out her relaxer. So far, its been since Sept since that last touch-up. I'm hoping with this new product we won't need one. Plus I'm looking forward to using it on my youngest daughter's hair as well. She's 8 and has mixed hair althought she's not mixed. She has that long "wash and wear" that altought it does not need relaxing, it takes an hour to wash and blow straight.
Until then, we'll wait patiently for our miracle

I finally got my True Ceramic Pro yesterday. I thought it was packaged terribly. The brush had 3 teeth missing and the case that is suppose to hold the flat iron, clips, etc. looked used... but the iron itself was wrapped in plastic in a box.. so I used it this morning and it works wonderful! I like the size because it allows me to flip the tips of my hair out and even curl it a bit. I have long hair and have been using the Jilbere 2 1/2 inch iron.. which works great also, but seems to burn my hair a bit. I will let you guys know if I decide to keep the True Ceramic Pro or not... being that I've only tried it once, I will have to try it a few more times......
Has anyone used it and not liked it? Any returned theirs? I haven't read any horror stories yet.... I'd like to hear the bad parts too please!

hi girls,
well i have been trying to reply to this thread for the longest time but i was having trouble registering. anyways, i checked this thread daily because i also ordered the tru ceramic pro and i couldn't wait to get it. my shipping took forever. i order it on Nov 27th and got it on Jan 4th. anyways, i have very thick, frizzy, and wavy hair. nothing i tried worked on my hair. i even paid $180 for the HARDCORE straight iron form toni and guy and it didn't work in my hair. all my life i have looked for something to tame my hair. this iron works wonders for my hair. i think it is worth the price, i probably would pay even more. i didn't even have to use any products. i blow dried my hair and it was very frizzy and puffy. then i followed the instructions on the dvd and it worked! now i get so many compliments on my hair and it had raised my self esteem so much. its the best gift i've ever received. my advice to anyone who is debating----TRY IT! TRY IT! TRY IT! you absolutely won't regret it.

Two of my roommates have the True Ceramic Pro and it is so awesome. I want one for myself but I can't afford it. However, they bought there's at a beauty store. No shipping! I think it was True Beauty or something like that. My suggestion to anyone who is thinking of buying it is checking around in the stores to see if anyone carries it. (You know you can never believe the tv when it says "not available in stores") Good Luck!

Hi,
Please do not purchase this product. My daughter just burned a section of her hair off using this tool.

The iron has adjustable heat settings and should not burn the hair. If you have very fine hair, you should begin with the lowest temperature setting first as to avoid any damage to the hair. If you notice that the iron is unusually hot even on the lowest setting, most likely you have a defective iron and you should return it to the company and exchange it for a new one. If someone says that the true ceramic pro burned off their hair, you should find out the complete details of how it happened, like what heat setting was the iron set to when the incident happened?, did the person have color treated hair?, etc.. before just deeming it a bad product, because it might have been set at too high of a setting for that person's particular hair type or possibly it was a defective iron.

Yes... I bought it. It is wonderful. It is so fast and I can do my hair wet straight from the shower. I have used others before and this one is the best. It is worth the price. Plus you get some nice free things. The greatest thing is that it gets so hot and it sets so fast and lasts until you wash your hair.

i have seen the infomercial on tv several times and ive been dying to get it ever since. i really wanna try it. i have very thick, coarse hair thats very hard to work with. i never leave it down since it could never look as smooth, straight, silky as any normal hair if if was down so i always have it in a bun. im so tired of always looking like a guy cuz my hair is always back.
i went to a store "showcase: as seen on tv" hoping that id find true ceramic pro there, but instead they had BABYBLISS which btw looks so much like true ceramic pro. its red and has narrow plates too! at first when i saw it, i thought it was an immitation of tcp but when i looked at the price of the item, i was astonished to find $179.00 to be the actual price!! i live in canada and tcp would cost around $154-160 if i ordered it from the states. has anyone used the BABYBLISS before?? ive heard that it works wonders as well, maybe even better. the thing is i dont want to have to wait for the true cemaric pro (since it could take awhile for me to get it) but i dont mind waiting at all. but if BABYBLISS costs more than tcp, it must be a really good product as well. im thinking of getting babybliss because i can just get it anytime. although it costs a bit more than tcp, im willing to try it. they look so similar anyway.
anyone know anything about the straightener BABYBLISS?

Tanyaa, I sincerely hope you're not putting hot metal in wet hair. You're going to end up damaging your hair severely, if not burning it off.

I recently ordered this product. The offer is that your credit card is charged for shipping only of $15. Then after 30 days you are billed 3 payments of about $35 each, since the cost of this product is over $100.
I really like the iron since it is easy to use, lightweight, heats up quickly, has a high temperature range and seems non-damaging to my hair so far.

i saw the commercial for the first time this week and said hmmmmm it doesnt straightern the "colored" ladies hair that much, it straightens but still appears untexturized, they state in the commercial "straightens without chemicals" hah, NOTHIN straightens like sodium hyroxide lye for us coloreds. ANYYYYYWAYyyyyy i'd still like to try it. I'm waiting to read on here if any african-american (a description i personally dont consider myself, as "colored" is more descriptive or 'afro-american'. However Have any blacks used it who have kinky-unruly hair like mine, i used to have a chemical straightener and wore a "wrap" and my hari never grew so fast or looked so healthy. I'm bald again now that i DONT chemically straighten. okay. so much for that! I own a ceramic straightener but it isnt an "ionic-infrared, instant heating insturment that heats to 400 (crazy) degrees like the commercial says.

I just now ordered the True Ceramic Pro and I am keeping my fingers crossed that it WILL work. (By the way, I got sucked into ordering one of those Revo Stylers and... well, all I can say is... don't do it!)
It seems that MOST of the people posting have positive things to say about the TCP; however, since this is not in the "African American" board, I'm not sure what types of hair this is working on. The reason I ask is because I ordered this for my daughter, who IS mixed (and her hair really reflects it -- it's got all different textures in it). She inherited her dad's very wavy hair, which is thick at the roots and looks as though it's been crimped; the minute she brushes it, it's totally frizzy, especially on the ends, because she also inherited from me my VERY VERY baby fine, stick straight hair.
Bottom line is that I'm hoping this will work for her. I figured the cost was worth it, because for the last 8 months or so, we've been going to professionals to get her hair flat ironed, and it costs around $50 or $60 each time, and then of course she can't wash it until we have another appointment again, so either we have to spend a LOT of money going often OR she doesn't get to wash her hair too often (her hair is also a combo of dry and oily, so it can get pretty nasty)!
If anyone has any tips or feedback for me, or has similar hair as my daughter's, let me know. I would really appreciate it! And when I do receive the True Ceramic Pro and try it, I will definitely get back to you guys on how it works! Thanks!

Hello,
I am the same person who posted a very long posting about the true ceramic pro on page 3, saying "this is the best iron I have ever used on my hair in my life!". I just wanted to make it very clear to everyone who read my posting that I am mixed. I have fine, curly, very wavy hair, and because I am multiracial, I have different textures of hair on my head. Both of my parents are mixed and I came out with hair that is a combination of both of them. My dad is Jamaican,French,Irish, and Souix Native American and my mom is Russian Jew, Black, white, and Choctaw Native American. But I think that many or most people when they see me, can see that I am part black, of which I feel very blessed to be!
I said all of that because it is so hard for me to describe the kind of hair that I have in writing, but I am a mixed girl and mostly all of the friends I have had growing up, are biracial (black & white) and each one of my friends, has a different hair type. One has more coarse, thick hair, the other has soft spirals, and me, kind of a combination of it all! So, I can't really say for sure if the tcp will work for you, because everyone is unique and different, but it has really worked for my hair and it has made my hair straight, soft, and more shiny and the results have lasted a very long time! Praise God!
I would advise anyone with fine hair or fine hair ends, please do not put the iron at the highest setting right away, try the lower setting first, then gradually increase the temperature as needed.
If you have very dry or damaged ends, using a little ethnic moisturizing conditioner on the ends of your hair may be of great benefit, I found, for me, it helped the cuticle to lie flatter and gave a nice shine at the ends.
Also, if you have not read my posting on page 3, please read it. In the posting I explained more indepth my experience with the tcp iron.
I hope that this posting has helped anyone with mixed hair or a parent of a child with mixed hair.
Additional Note: Also, I think that people who have very coarse or "kinky" hair should try the true ceramic pro, because I believe that it can help reduce the need for relaxing the hair every 4 to 6 weeks and at the proper heat setting for hair type, can cause less damage to the hair than chemicals.
To anyone who is reading this who has very coarse hair, don't be concerned about not seeing alot of postings from people who have the exact same hair type as you do. My advise is to try the True Ceramic Pro and see how it works for you. You will not know for sure unless you try it. I am saying this because I think that alot of people with very coarse, curly hair are hesitant to try the tcp iron because they think that the tcp won't work for them because their hair is too coarse or curly, but I don't believe that is true. Everyone is truly individual and unique and even though you may not see a reflection of yourself represented in the infomercial, that doesn't mean it won't work for you! Please try the True Ceramic Pro and let us know how it worked for you!
Jesus loves you!

Hi Nylane777 and THANK YOU for responding to my post!
First, how weird is this -- I had not seen the commercial for the TCP in a very long time, but I happened to have the TV on very early this morning, and there it was! I figure it must be fate that I ordered this thing yesterday
Anyway, your posts were very helpful, and I'm really hopeful about this product working. I had read your post on page 3 before (which, in addition to posts by others, really encouraged me), but I went back and read it again and then realized that you are from So. Calif. also. I'm in Los Angeles, so the weather factor at least is the same for you and my daughter! And I can just imagine how many different textures your hair must be with ALL those wonderful ethnicities/nationalities you have -- I thought my daughter had a lot (many the same as you), but you REALLY are lucky to have so many wonderful genes and cultures in your background.
I tried to send a letter to Customer Service at the TCP company to get an idea when I might be receiving the product, but so far no answer... I hope that doesn't mean it will take TOO long. Will keep you and the others on this message board posted as to the progress of the transaction and, of course, the USE of it (hopefully that will be soon!)
Thanks again to you and all who have put in their feedback -- it's most appreciated!
Helaine
P.S. Sara wanted to be sure that I made an announcement that the picture is very OLD (truly it is -- our sweet cat isn't even alive anymore)

Hey everyone,
Last night I pretty much couldn't sleep no matter what I tried. I was up at 5:00 am and saw the infomercial for the True Ceramic Pro. I am such a skeptic, but I figured that if anything I could return it within the 30 days...so I ordered it. I have extremely straight and fine hair that does NOT hold a style. That's not the main thing that sold me on the product...the resistance to humidity sold me. I cannot even express how horrible my hair looks when it's humid. I have spent at least a hundred dollars on these so called "humidity resistant sleek and shine" serums and NONE of them have EVER worked for me in the humidity. Whenever I watch the news and see that the next day/week will be humid I become miserable...literally miserable because I know what a wreck I will look like. My True Ceramic Pro should be here within 3-5 weeks and I will DEFINITELY let you guys know how it works for me. I'm keeping my hopes up and my fingers crossed. If anyone is like me...with the whole humidity thing...can you please reply and let me know how it worked for you? Thanks!

Krystle. I live in South Texas (Corpus Christi) where it is extremely humid, and believe me I was skeptical when I stepped outside the first time I used it. But when I got home my hair still looked almost exactly the same as it had when I did it that morning. It's as if my hair actually RESISTS HUMIDITY. When I would straiten my hair with my old flat-iron (if you could even call it straitening), my hair would be destroyed within 5 minutes of walking out of the house. I'm excited that I no longer have to worry about that.
To give you an extreme example of how well it hold out to humidity, I straightened my hair with the TCP before I went to a night club on Thursday night. Usually by the end of the night my hair is puffy disaster. Not this time - although it was kind of messed up from all the sweating I'd done, it was not frizzy at all. Now that is a miracle I thought I'd never see.

Krystle... I ordered mine a few days ago (online) and they gave me no indication of when it might arrive (or by what method -- UPS, regular mail, etc.). I even wrote to them to ask and they sent me a form email thanking me for my order and telling me to write to the address that I already wrote to (!) if I had any questions. In other words, they didn't answer my question.
So I was wondering... did you order by phone, by mail, or online? I'm guessing it was my phone and that a "real person" told you it would be 3-5 weeks, but if you can clarify that for me, I'd really appreciate it. Some others here got theirs within a WEEK or so -- I wonder how much they bribed the rep on the phone to get it so fast? Just kidding, of course.
Thanks, Helaine

Hello,
I just wanted to say that I ordered the true ceramic pro by phone on 12-28-04 and it came on 1-4-05! I was very surprised that it came so fast, because before ordering it, I had read different postings about it taking 2 or 3 weeks to arrive. I am in Southern California and in my case it arrived in less than 7 business days! Wow!!!
I just wanted to post this to encourage anyone who has ordered the True Ceramic Pro recently. Hold on! I believe your special iron is on the way!
Contact 888-80-STYLE for order status.
Note: I did call to speak to a representative to find out when the iron was coming. I believe that I was told 3 to 4 weeks, but to my surprise, and I was extremely surprised, it came in less than 7 business days. Truly an answer to prayer!

Nylane and Liltee.... I'd be VERY surprised if I receive the TCP as quickly as you did, but I sure would be happy. The sooner we can try it on my daughter's hair, the better! At least they only charged the shipping cost on my credit card. I guess when they send it out they start billing the installments.
And thanks for letting me know that I can call the toll-free number for a status report. They sure don't answer their email, so I don't advise anyone to use that as a resource for getting answers!

Kim, thanks for the tip about the Magniglide. I did see that somewhere in my "web travels" but couldn't remember if the general opinion was that it was good or not. Sounds like you give it a thumbs up, so if the True Ceramic Pro doesn't do the trick, I'll definitely take your advice -- thanks again!

Has anyone had any experience using the iron from Sally Beauty Supply that''s like the True Ceramic Pro?
The iron is part of their "Ion" line of dryers and irons, and it has all the features of the TCP, including the negative ion stuff that seals the moisture into your hair. At the store, the sign for the iron says, "As Seen on TV," so I think they''re trying to compete.
Anyway, the iron costs $99.99, and through the end of January, they''re giving away a $27.00 Ionic blowdryer if you buy the iron. Using the green card at Sally''s makes the deal even better, spend $2. to get the discount card, and the iron and free blowdryer only cost $89.99!
I was a little wierded out by TCP not explaining the costs of everything on their infomercial, and then several people here have had shipping problems (delays and things not packed well, might be used, etc.). So.... I''m trying to figure out if going with the Sally option might be cheaper and easier for the same function.
If you know anything about this one, I''d appreciate hearing your opinions.
Thanks!

Hey Helaine, I ordered the TCP by phone ... the guy I spoke with said that I should receive it within 3-5 weeks and that I would receive an email when it ships out. I asked him why It was going to take so long and he said because there is a high demand for them. I hope I get it sooner...that would be great.

I received The true ceramic pro on christmas eve, and it only took two weeks to ship. The TCP works wonders...because i have very thick hair it takes me about an hour to have it straightened, but i noticed the difference and it's awsome. :-). However, the only thing is that i noticed that my hair began to feel very dry and the hair sprays that the TCP offers dont work well on my hair. The shine only lasted for 20 minutes and it looked unhealthy. I wouldn't recommend any one to use the hair sprays. but for better results i use (Citre shine) for constant heat, and it showed a great difference my hair, it felt alot softer and healthier. All my friends noticed how straight and healthy my hair looks and order the TCP as well. This Iron is Great!!! it saves alot of time and most of all money.

I previously asked about the alternative to True Ceramic Pro:
Has anyone had any experience using the iron from Sally Beauty Supply that''s like the True Ceramic Pro?

---
Following up, I bought the machine because I checked on the return policy at Sally, which is 90 days for any reason with receipt. So I gave it a shot, and for anyone else who wants to save money, I'll let you know that it did everything I saw on the commercial for True Ceramic Pro, except tightly curl hair, which I don't really need anyway. The straightening was great but what was better was the shine, and the softness I felt on my hair.
I wondered if the one response I had saying don't try it was a real answer, or someone who doesn't want us to know that there alternative products out there that are cheaper and work as well. There were no reasons given, and it was so sharp and not friendly.
So, these are just my thoughts, I'll throw my experience into the mix, and if it helps someone, so much the better. I don't have an interest in either iron, but I am always on the hunt for things that help you look cuter :)
Good luck to everyone.

Hello. I''ve been reading the posts about True Ceramic Pro and I''m pretty interested in it now. But, this is my concern. I have naturally curly thick hair, but I''m NOT looking for permanent straightening. I had my hair chemically straightened about 4 years ago and it taught me to love my curly hair. But, I would still like to have the straight look every now and then just to mix things up. I''ve read in some of the posts that some flat irons were actually causing the hair to stay straight for months at a time. That I don''t want! I just need something to straighten and smooth my hair for the day and then go back to curly when I wash it. Can anybody tell me which experience they''ve had with TCP? Thanks so much!

Hi Missrachel,
I ordered the True Ceramic Pro and received the product within a week of my order. I tried it on my daughter's hair which is very thick and coarse. She did not care for the results as her hair felt stiff after using the iron. I tried it on my niece whose hair texture is extremely curly, but not as thick as my daughter's and it straightend her hair just fine. Both girls (19 and 22) have chemically straightened hair. I am 48 and have let the chemical straightener grow completely out of my hair. Before I ordered the True Ceramic Pro, I used a Golden Hot flat iron, which did straighten my hair, but did not have adjustable heat settings. When I used the Golden Hot iron, my hair would frizz when exposed to the slightest bit of humididty. (I live in Houston, so there are very few days when the humididty is low) I tried the True Ceramic Pro on my hair and am thrilled with the results. I was able to straighten and curl in one step and the curls are holding!!! I was skeptical about the price at first, but my oldest daughter who is in cosmetology school says that comparable flat irons cost as much as this one or more. My hair texture is thich and curly, but not very coarse. With the True Ceramic Pro my hair looks like I've been to the salon for a perm! I am very pleased with this product. Hope this helps.

Hey Ella. Thanks for the help. I live in Tennessee and the humidity is pretty high here too. Have you noticed a difference in your overall hair texture since you started using the True Ceramic Pro? Are you still able to wear your hair curly like before? That's really my main concern. I don't want to have straight hair every day of the week. I still want to have my normal curly hair sometimes too. Thanks!

Response to Rachel and anyone concerned about the tcp permanently altering the texture of the hair.
Hello,
I am the same person who posted a very long posting on page 3 saying "this is the best iron I have ever used on my hair in my life".
I just want to say that if you are concerned about your hair not going back to being curly after using the tcp iron, please don't be concerned. I am multiracial with very wavy, curly, frizzy hair and when I wash my hair or even just spray my hair with water, it goes back to it's wavy, curly, frizzy state of being.
I cannot speak for everyone, but from my own experience, the iron has not permanately straightened my hair at all. My wavy, fluffy, curly, thick hair has always returned when I have washed my hair or sprayed it with water. From my experience, my hair can stay very straight for days after ironing it with the True Ceramic Pro Iron, but when I wash it, all of the waves and curls are back.
So, please don't be concerned about the True Ceramic Pro permanently straightening your hair, because from what I have experienced, it doesn't, and I am very happy about that! I can wear my hair straight one day and the next day have fluffy, curly, wavy hair again!
I hope that this helps.
Jesus loves you!

Hello,
I just wanted to add some information that might be helpful to anyone who has wanted to get the True Ceramic Pro, but has not been able to due to the cost.
Prior to getting the True Ceramic Pro, I had done much research on the internet for many days in searching for the best ceramic ionic flat iron. I was searching for an iron that I thought was just as good or better than the tcp and that was for less money. I had to choose between the tcp and one other iron.
I ended up on a site, Folica.com, they were selling many ionic flat irons, but the one that was the top best seller and had rave reviews from more than a hundred people, was the Sedu. The Sedu is $105.95 + free shipping.
The Sedu has very sleek Tourmaline/Ceramic plates and has adjustable heat settings. It has the flattest plates that I have ever seen on a flat iron and it had so many pages of reviews that I could not read them all. I believe that it is still the #1 best selling ionic iron on Folica beating the chi, hai, hot tools, babyliss, and maxiglide.
After much time and prayer I finally decided to get the TCP iron, I felt that the True Ceramic Pro was the right one for me to get. I also wanted the accesories, like the styling clips, sprays, ionic brush, and carrying case.
The True Ceramic Pro has worked great on my hair! It is the only ceramic ionic flat iron that I have ever used on my hair and it really straightens my hair well and has given me long lasting results.
I would recommend trying the True Ceramic Pro, but if it does not work for you or if you are looking for an iron that is cheaper, I would honestly recommend the Sedu.
If I had not gotten the TCP iron, I would have most likely gotten the Sedu, because from my in depth research, it seems to be a really great iron too. The Sedu was the only other iron that I was seriously considering.
I highly recommend anyone who is looking for a top of the line ionic iron that is less than the TCP, to consider the Sedu.
To find out more about the Sedu or to read reviews about it, please go to:
http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Flat__360_1.html - http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Flat__360_1.html
Note: I am giving this information, because there have been some postings recently of concern about the cost of the True Ceramic Pro and some people have expressed interest in purchasing an iron for a cheaper price, but of the same or better quality as the tcp.

Hey all. Price actually is an issue with me as well. I did like the idea of the payment plan with TCP. I think that's a great marketing tool and I'm glad many companies are going to that. I too saw the Sedu and Babyliss irons at Folica, but right now, even paying $100 or more up front for anything would be out of the question. I ended up ordering Maxiglide today. It's $80 and is broken down into payments and I've heard a lot of great things about it (not as much on here, but on other websites). Plus, there is a clear return policy listed on the website and that's pretty important to me. It should arrive tomorrow, so I'll let everybody know if I like it or not. Take care!

Response to MissJill:
I believe that the average temperature to straighten very thick hair is between 300 and 400 degrees. But not only is thickness important but also the texture and condition of the hair as well. For example, I have thick hair, but it is fine in texture, so I do not usually set the TCP iron at 400 degrees. Someone with thick and coarse textured hair most likely should set the iron above 300 degrees. But, there are some factors that someone should consider before using any hair iron, like is the hair fine, medium, or coarse in texture? Is the hair relaxed or color treated? How is the condition of the ends of the hair? If the ends of the hair are damaged, I think that the heat should be adjusted to a lower temperature just for the ends of the hair. Also, a conditioning oil (like Proclaim Natural 7) applied before or after straightening can be of much benefit and add a healthy sheen to the hair. Note: I have set the iron at 400 degrees before and for me the results were amazing. At that temperature my hair was straightened very fast and my hair was super slick! So if you are in a hurry and your hair is super thick, 400 degrees may be a good idea! Just be wise and adjust the iron according to your own unique hair type.
The True Ceramic Pro is really a wonderful ionic ceramic flat iron. I highly recommend it for anyone with very curly, wavy, fluffy hair like mine. It has really saved me alot of time doing my hair and I don't even have to use it everyday! The results last a very long time and the ionic brush that came with it, is wonderful!
There are other flat irons on the market for less money, but the one that I highly recommend is the one that I have tried and has worked for my hair- The True Ceramic Pro!

I just recieved the TCP today, after many days of reading all these posts, you guys out there convinced me to try it, and I have to admit that I LOVE IT!. My hair has never been this straight, not even after leaving the solon. I have very fine, very curly hair, and this thing has made it stick staight. Now I have to wait and see what happens when the humidity hits it, which is usually PUFF!
What ever happened to Saras Mom?

I bought it on a whim and it is the best straightening iron I have ever used. I can do my hair (very curly, fine but I have a lot of it) in ten minutes or less. Very shiny. Like the products too. I've never bought anything from an infomercial before but I'd buy this again, for sure.
