Ever notice that your hair gets longer when you least expect it.  I was looking in the mirror this morning and saying to my self wow my hair is getting longer,  I love it.  I have been so focused on my hair growing that I did not notice the recent growth.  I realized that I do have long hair and it just keeps getting better.  I just can't wait for elbow or waist it is comming soon.  Sometimes people notice and say wow your hair getting longer,  I say thanks its getting there.  I can't wait for waist length,  hopefully I can forget about it for a while and poof it will be there.  Good luck to all the hair growers out there.

Congratulations!  If you wear it up a lot and don't really look at it in the mirror much, it can surprise you!

Hi:

You are right.  It grows faster when you do not watch it.

There's an old cliche:  A watched pot never boils.

Seems to be apply to hair growth, as well.

My grandmother used to use this illustration often, and I have to agree, it really does apply to hair growth as well!

I'm not really measuring my hair as often as I used to for this very reason.  But I can tell it is still growing because I'm beginning to be able to do more different updos, like French twist, that it was too short to do before.

How do you measure the length of your hair???  I measure 17" right now, that is from top of scalp where hair growth starts to very end if hair shaft, is that right???

BNTW I love this thread too

That's wonderful. 23"...that's what my hair usted to be.  By most people's standards that's quite long. I'll bet it looks just lovely! Good for you for having the patience to grow it out!

Congrats on your growth, everybody

Definitely take progress photos if you have a digital camera. I've been keeping track of my growth that way, instead of measuring. Whenever I feel down about hair length, I just check out those old photos and BAM, proof that it's been growing... Sometimes I compare one month with the next, to see if I can discern that 1/2 - 3/4 inch difference
