Hi Everyone

Was wondering if anyone has tried the open colour range. I was going to try it but saw some comments on another forum where people said they tried the light brown shades and their hair went really dark,so now I'm not so sure. Has anyone had the same thing happen to them? I have light brown hair looking to brighten up a bit without going to dark.

Thanks

Hi saffrony,

I have a friend in Canada that used the L'Oreal "Open" Haircolor about a year ago. She chose a medium brown shade and was VERY disappointed because the resulting color was extremely dark, almost a black color. She then went to a salon and had the color lightened. She now only get's her colored professionally. I color my hair at home. I use "L'Oreal Excellence" I have found that the shades are very close to the shades on the box and the product dosen't seem as damageing as most other home hair color kits.

I haven't seen that brand in a while.  I thought they'd discontinued it.

Well, I used a kinda auburn from that line once, and liked it, but afterwards could never find it again.  It's probably my fault, though-- I didn't take down the shade name, and just looked for the same model on the box again.  If they still made that shade, they must've changed the model, because I never saw her again -_-; .  Lesson here, take down the shade name and number of any dye you like, just in case!

Hello Kuroneko...so nice to see you again on the boards   I also believe that L'Oreal has discontinued their line of the "Open" hair color. Perhaps because there were far too many complaints of the product?! saffrony...you really might like the L'Oreal "Excellence" I honestly don't think you would be disappointed. I also tried the Clairol "Hydrience" and I liked it alot. I just noticed that your wanting to "brighten" up your light brown hair. L'Oreal has a brand of hair color that just might suit you...

They also offer another hair color product "Les True Brunettes" http://www.lorealparis.ca/en/haircolor/index_truebrunettes.asp - http://www.lorealparis.ca/en/haircolor/index_truebrunettes.a sp  hopefully one of these L'Oreal hair color products might help you achieve your desired results. We've still got the open colour where I live, but maybe its just stock left over. I've read alot of negative comments on feria on make up alley, alot people said it fried their hair! Haven't heard of the true brunettes-we're a bit slow getting things her in little old oz sometimes! Anyone tried clairol nice n easy? I wish there were more semi permanent colours around, the ones I've tried weren't that good-limited shades.
