hi,

i know that the cap is old-fashionned, but i am worried about my
ability to paint highlights in my hair.

can a cap give heavy highlights? or am i going to end up with just
little 'stripey' blonde streaks?

after i pull out the hair to bleach, will it lift better and be less messy
if i put the hair into foil?

thanks for any help!

I am partial to caps, because foils can slip off, and painting right on the hair can drip on to other pieces of hair and cause splotches.  You can pull out thicker hair streaks to achieve a chunky look. Or you can pull out thin strands, but a lot of them. or some thin and some thicker. there are alot of ways you can do it to achieve the look you want. i personally think its safer to do at home. just make sure you brush out the hair that you pull through, to make sure it pulls the whole strand up, so you don't get any looping going on.
