I do hair extensions. I use the Prohair Fiber method. This is a wonderful method because it uses no chemicals or glue and last for 3 to 4 months (depending on how fast the hair grows). Even though it's synthetic hair, it looks very natural and I can custom blend the hair to match any color. These hair extensions do not damage the natural hair at all.

I believe hair dreams is just another fusion method. Hey Jenny and girls-Do we allow advertising on this board? What kind of synthetic method do you do? |

Generally, no--we're not supposed to advertise, especially if our only participation in the boards is creating new threads advertising our own products and services. That never goes over well. Of course, quite a few members here are stylists, and potential clients do come on the site asking for references in their area. A few members are also hair sellers, so sometimes they chime in about how different products work, etc., which I, for one, find quite helpful. And a lot of us trade/purchase products to sample from each other. I don't know that these things would be considered advertising, though. Perhaps Karen should clarify exactly where the line is drawn. |

I personally don't mind advertising on the board since there's several
here who do have good products, services, etc. I actually like it when new items get introduced and we're pointed in the right direction to obtain things. I believe that coming here and advertising without any other participation, the ad should be deleted. |

I found the Hair Dreams website without toomuch trouble. http://www.hairdreams.com Stillhaven't figured out what method it is... Some of the site appears to only be in german. If anyone can read it. I'll keep looking for fun inthe meantime. Maybe they have a French version that'sinformative |

It does look like it is pretipped fusion after looking at a few more salon sites But glue is glue. Some glue is worse than other glue but... |

Word, Amanda. It's getting real old. To clarify: If it's an adhesive, it's glue; if it sticks to your hair, it's glue; if you need a "solution" to remove it, it's glue. Buyer beware: Anyone who says otherwise is lying. And enough already with, "Well, the company says it's not glue.... It's a specially designed protein-keratin nylon-polymer formula, blah, blah, blah.... " Any professional stylist who's making a healthy profit off these services should be responsible for having a little common sense and being able to wade through this irresponsible and misleading advertsing. True, glue is fine for some. But I'd like to see this stylist explain to the client who adamantly doesn't want fusion why she's melting an adhesive into their hair. Huh? Smells like fusion to me. And honestly, this kind of thing should be grounds for a lawsuit, imo. In addition, it's ridiculous to say that any extensions "last" for 5 months. Even for slow-growing hair, the growth from the root would require removal sooner. True, the glue will probably last forever, but leading clients to believe their extensions will is just absurd. It never ceases to amaze me how adamant the state boards are about licensing and such, yet anyone straight out of cosmetology school who with a dollar, a dream, and a half-day's worth of "training" seems to have carte blanche to propograte lies about their products and services. Yeah, maybe we should delete this ad. |

Who cares? Well, I would imagine you should care, for one, since you're providing this service to your clients. I can't understand your attitude about it, frankly. As a professional, you should be taking this a lot more seriously.
Yeah, not so much drama queens, but you're right--we do put a lot of time and energy into this. And from the sounds of it, you should be doing more of the same. No offense, Erin. I obviously don't know you or your work. But I can't understand why you'd post this ad here, then claim your method "isn't glue at all," when you know very well it is. I can't imagine that you'd think people would respond well to this sort of thing. |

and find out what this was. I mean really must have taken all of
five minutes... And part of the reason we want t o know exactly what things are is that we would be really excited to hear about a NEW method. Look how well people here took to extendtubes and shrinkies. |
