Hi all -
You gals with PH color rings - what would be a good equivalent of 27 and 613? I have Winterblond, and I believe that's really a strawberry blonde probably close to 27. Any opinions on this? But for 613, I'm wondering if Jenny's vanille is a lot closer than, e.g. the PlatinBlond that I have is.

I have a friend going to Zurich today and I'm going to have Sara send some haar to his hotel to take back for me as well as a color ring. I could probably get a few color rings added in. . .

Hey Fina,

It's hard to say because I've seen 613s in so many slightly different shades....

That said, I think the Vanille or Satin would be the closest to what I think of as a true 613. Those two shades are incredibly similar; I think the Vanille is a bit yellower while the Satin's a bit ashier. The Platinum
is just a touch darker than these two, imo, and has a warmer, beigier undertone to it. They all look good next to the Winterblonde, but if I had to pick one I'd say Vanille/WB is the best combo. Again, these colors are so similar; the differences are amazingly subtle. I think you could go with any of them, really.

Thanks Jenny. I'm still struggling with the darker undertone (i.e. 27-ish). I currently have Birke and Winterblond in my hair. While I like the look of the Birke/Blonde/Platinum combo, honestly, the Birke doesn't match my underlying hair color (it's a little to ash-ey), while the Winterblond is kind of orangey. How would you say that Mandel fits into the mix? Amm had posted a pic of it, and Sara says it's "27". Thoughts??

p.s. I was looking at your new pic and comparing it to Kalika's. . .I think you've done it!!

hey fina - somewhere on here i posted a thread of my pics - my PH was blended for sure with many colors but the mandel was a primary color used...it's not super strawberry blonde imo, but it is a really nice warm color.

here's the thread: http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=28984&KW=ccross6032 - http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=28984 &KW=ccross6032

Cheryl - THANKS for the confirmation - I had looked at AMM's colors, and in it she has Mandel next to Winterblond, and the Mandel did look to be just the right shade of "deepness".

I appreciate your help!!  And your hair looks great!!

Hopefully this doesn't confuse matters, but here are some of the colors you mentioned. Needless to say, the lighting in my apartment sucks and everybody's monitor will show these differently (obviously, there's a lot of flash happening here), but maybe this'll give you a better idea of how the colors look right next to each other. (The closer-up pics on the bottom aren't labeled, but the sequence is exactly the same.) :)

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

Very interesting. On AMM's photo the Mandel looked "deeper" than the Winterblond.  On your ring the Winterblond looks deeper.  What do you think?

Eeks! I was afraid I was confusing things a bit. Yeah, the Mandel is slightly deeper than the Winterblonde. Beyond the actual "depth," they're actually quite similar though (in terms of the warmth level).

Maybe these will show the difference better.

By the way, here are some of the light blondes again. Problem is, it's like a cave in this apartment. They look ashier, at least on my monitor, than in real life, where they're all a bit warmer and more golden.

Anyway, here goes:

On my monitor, Jenny's last photo where she has mandel and winterblond side by side is about the truest representation. There is a subtle difference between the two but the Mandel is definitely just a tad deeper. I love mandel and plan on getting it in the 50mm so if you get it and don't care for it, Fina, I will gladly purchase it from you.

PS; I usually go with a deeper undercolor but for the summer I'll be lightening up. That mandel will be perfect as the lowlight.

well Im not sure on this, but when I recieved my PH they forgot to mark ANY of my packages. And I can find absolutely no difference in color between the Vanille and the Platinblond. I can tell a distinct difference in those pictures though. I wonder if I got all Vanille or Platinblonde by mistake.....HMMMM

That's what I thought initially, too, and now I'm not so sure. Keep in mind that these photos are with flash so might they look more different from one another than they appear in natural light. Mine were labeled, but I couldn't see any difference between them either. That said, the Vanille on the ring is just a bit brighter and golder than the Platinum. It's quite possible that they got your order wrong. I think you, Kalika, and I all ordered the light blondes at the same time, and had the same issues, so I wouldn't be surprised at all. :)

Thanks Gals. Not sure if I posted my final order, but I got, in 50mm:

1 Vanille (it just SOUNDS so yummy. . .)
1 Mandel
2 Blonde

I Can't WAIT for the new install. . .the 28 mm is getting kinda rough, and I'm tired of fighting with it!!!

I'll have the haar next week when my friend returns from Basel.

Fina: That's a great mix. I like that Blond color, too--I'm not sure that many people have ordered it yet, but it seems like a nice, mid-level blonde that goes well with a lot of other colors.

Kirsty: Yeah, I think Vanille/Winter would be gorgeous. It's fairly close to what I think of as a standard 613/27 mix, which is fairly high-contrast. If you wanted to go with a subtler contrast, Vanille/Blond might be a nice mix, too--maybe more like a 613/24. But again, this is all subjective.
