Will a blue or blue-violet base counteract red/orange tones,
now that I have used a color remover?

I know that I have to use a color two shades lighter than the
color I want and the lightest color with a green base is too dark.

Blue would be better than blue-violet.  Generally post-colorstripped hair is more orange than red, which is probably why the green based colors are too dark for what you want.

Please do a strand test, anyway.  For your hair's sake.
