I know that I have to use a color two shades lighter than the color I want and the lightest color with a green base is too dark. Replies: Posted By: leia1979 Date Posted: March 31 2005 at 9:06pm Blue would be better than blue-violet.  Generally post-colorstripped hair is more orange than red, which is probably why the green based colors are too dark for what you want. Please do a strand test, anyway.  For your hair's sake.
