These are a couple that have come off. I took them all of last night. Not the easiest thing! The glue is VERY hard to get out. There is still some left.

Is there a different method that is better?

What kind of extensions are you wearing? What kind of glue are you
referring to?

I hate fusion  for that reason.  Some people have success with it, but I've seen too much damage from it.

Try shrinkies or extentubes, they are much easier on the hair and removal is much easier too.

Where can I purchase extentubes in Canada?

You can purchase them online from haircandy.net or hairpiece.com

The photos, as far as from what I can see, look disturbing--like a fair amount of your own hair has been pulled out.

Did you contact your stylist about this? And do you have photos of the bonds in your actual hair (a photo of the roots)?

:)

The stylist is not at the salon anymore?? I do have the rest of my fushion hair though. And as of last night I decided to get them out. A few more came out but I can only see one small bald spot thank goodness!! The glue was very hard to get out. There is still abit in there.

When you say disturbing..do you mean they should have not come out with that amount of hair still from my root?

I would love to try again so would the microlinks be better for me? Maybe my hair can't take the glue?? Who knows.

Thanks for all the help and advice!

Hmm..without seeing the actual extensions in your hair, it's really hard to say what the problem is, but in general, no--I don't think there's a reason why you can't wear extensions (unless you have a hairloss or some other physical condition that affects your hair's strength or ability to grow); from the sounds of it, the problems were the result of the installation or the aftercare. Sometimes, it does take a few tries to figure out which method is best for you.

I think you might have more luck with extentubes or shrinkies. In general, I think they're gentler than fusion, and they're definitely worth a try. You should be sure to do some strand tests with either method before installing a whole head.

Personally, my favorite method is pinchbraids because, ultimately, I find it to be the least damaging on my hair, but they can be hard to do yourself without a lot of practice. For DIY, I think shrinkies or extendtubes are your best options.

Congratulations on getting the fusion bonds out without creating more damage; it's not always that easy. What did you use to take them out?

I used some kind of shampoo that took 5 times and also Lord and Fushion's cream for removal. Not a quick process!

I will definitely try the extendtubes...are microlinks the same thing?

Yeah, microrings or microlinks are essentially the same thing, but extentubes (the ones sold at hairpiece.com and haircandy.net) have gotten the best reviews.

Good luck! :)

Hi Molly, i specialise in fusion extenions and what your picture shows is not that surprising as i see this alot from customers that have had it done elsewhere and come to me looking for a weave.  Let me explain.....

If fusion method is used then you must use a certain sized area of your own hair then when applying the extension hair it must either be the same size as your selected area or smaller but defo not larger.  It looks really pretty to have small bonds but its not practical.

From your photos, it looks like they have only used a small section of your hair (too small) and the weight of the extensions has broken your hair. (I hope i have explained this right!)

If applied correctly there is no damage to your own hair with fusion (if also removed professionaly)

if you need any further advice on this then you can email me any time
