Hi.

I'm really sick of my hair. It's almost like there is hair coming out of every possible spot and it gets puffy. My hair is thick, and if I would pull out a hair, it looks damaged. Like the hair would have one part thick, one part thin, then repeats (98% of my hair is like this). It's been like this for a while but I finally got sick of it.
I am pretty sure my hair wasnt thick when I was younger.
Is there any way to get shiny, smooth, silky hair?

Hi! Can I ask if you've processed your hair (coloring and/or perms)? If so, that's probably why it goes thick-thin-thick. I can't imagine any other reason hair would do that, but maybe someone else here has some ideas.

If damage is the problem, you will probably need to trim. You can get just small trims every 2 months and that will keep the length, but you will be getting rid of the damage bit by bit.

What sort of conditioners have you tried? Have you tried a protein conditioner? This can temporarily "fill in" the weak spots and make it appear healthier.

If your hair is too thick for your liking, layers may be an option...it helps thin out and give good shape to overly thick hair.  I've seen great heads of curly thick unlayered hair though, its just if it bugs you! As for shiny, try jojoba oil.
