your best bet is to go to a salon for an intesive moisture treatment

Ciao bella

If it's damaged, quit Garnier Fructis. It looks like your hair is reacting badly to silicones. There is a sticky thread on silicones in one of the two Hair Product sub-forums, if you'd like to take a gander at that....

Oh, and you mentioned Asian. Asian hair = porous hair = more potential for buildup. Another best bet is to try a vinegar rinse. Sounds like your hair feels damaged, but part of it could be product buildup- especially silicone buildup. 1/2 cup vinegar with 2 cups water, poured through the scalp and hair after shampoo (and before conditioner).

More info is in my sig, under "Clarifying"

Hope this helps

If that shampoo isn't working for you, try some other kinds until you find one that does.

::points up:: what Kuroneko said.  This is a big reason people tend to rotate among different products.

Recommendations? Um.... you could try what I use, I guess. Since you said you're Asian. I actually quit using shampoo, so my old shampoo routine might work for ya. It's under "Cleansing Methods" and is called CCOWC, also cross posted in the HB Hair Journals board. Products involve V05 Sunkissed Raspberry and Suave BioBasics. Although Suave BioBasics has a silicone product, it's dimethiconol with an OL at the end... meaning it dissolves in water. This helps reduce damage.

With shampoos, it doesn't really matter what brand. It's the cleansing ingredient that matters. The cleansing ingredient (second ingredient on the ingredient list) should be sodium laureth sulfate (note the ETH on laureth). NOT sodium lauryl sulfate with YL at the end. The product should also NOT include the word ammonium in its ingredient listing.

Hope this helps

Hi nottygal,

I've been a hairstylist for 15 years now and the only 2 products that i trust to work for damaged dry hair is Pantene intensive restoration treatment which you leave in your hair for at least 10 minutes the more time you leave it in the better it works 20 minutes the most time I found for it to work its best. The other product is infuseum leave in treatment. These 2 products work the best for dry damaged hair. I color my hair blonde and its very dry and I just started to notice a change in the condition of my hair form the pantene. Good luck with your hair and please post a reply and let me know how your hair turns out.  Good Luck with your hair.

Sincerely
Mitch
