...boy its so frustrating making your own latex / nail glue tips! I dont know how many times i glued my fingers together today or got the nail glue bond stuck to me, contaminated it and had to start all over (ahhhh!) Does anyone else have this trouble? Or does it just get easier with practise? |

Are you holding the pretip by the loose hair side when you add the nail
glue? I do that and put the drop on the end and then use the nail
glue applicator tip to move the nail glue around on the tip once there
is a small drop already in place. Sometimes you need to add a
little more and then move that around too in order to get enough
on. BUt that way I don't end up covered in nail glue. Hope
that makes ense and helps. :)al |

MOCHACHIP -I hold the hair about an inch from the tip but its when im putting it down on the table that i manage to stick it to myself (ahhh!) and i have another couple of orders to make and am not looking forward to it. MARIE- I might be giving epoxy a try some time soon! ------------- |

oh i see So here's my favorite. Get a tray or cheap plaate or something with a big lip. then you can drop the hair over the edge of the plate and adjust it's postion on the glue free side without having to touch the glue side and without the glue side touching anything at all while drying. SO glue drop adjust position in that order. |

I just tried my first pretipping yesterday and used LQ and then nail glue after they dried. I also tried the keratin glue stick. The LQ was so easy to work with! No glue anywhere, and I'm a klutz. Not the glue stick though! It was all over the place. Have you ever tried the LQ?

Yeah hairraisn..I'm not a fan of the LG...It was sloooow and messy, but that was just my experience. No, i used latex and nail glue. The latex part was easy but i had a nightmare with the nail glue. Thanks for the tips ladys! Im off to bed now 00:47 in the uk just now. Wish me luck for tomorrows pre-tipping  (lol)------------- |

I use big storage bins that I have off season clothes in and put the hair hanging over the edge like mochachip said that way it sticks to nothing

| Gina, thanks for the feedback about the gluegun. I went back and looked at your pics of the keratin and realized one thing I forgot to do when I tried pretipping with the gluegun. What I did do was put the keratin stick in the glue gun, then glue the weft like in your illustration, but I didn't heat it up afterwards. No wonder it looked like another object that would not be appropriate for this particular board. |

I've switched to latex (Proclaim Super Bond at Sally's for .89 cents a bottle on sale) and I think it's a dream to work with. It dries completely clear even on darker hair.
I'm still using the Liquid Gold but I brush it over the top of the latex tips after I'm done. I like the extra hold it gives when the shrinkie goes over the top. I haven't done the nail glue over the top for a while. I think that's because since I've switched to using a lot of synth, I have no desire to save the hair once it comes out and I just toss it in the garbage.
