Maybe someone can tell me what this is supposed to mean?

My letter to a web site selling hair:

Can you please put hair lengths on all the synthetic hair you're selling?

I see about 10 different types of hair I'm trying to decide on but there is no information about their lengths. It's too time consuming to go through all the packets and ask you about every single one of them.

Thank you.

Their response:

Many synthetic hair manufacturers do not provide us with the lengths of the hair due to the fact that the hair during a period of wearing, may or may not drop in curls making it appear longer or shorter. Thank You for your suggestion.

Translation:
We know nothing about the product we are selling. We're not interested enough in you or it to take the hair out of the bag and measure it. We are merely interested in taking your money. This is also an indication of the level of customer service you may expect from us. Order at your own risk.

I think it's more like Nobody ever asked us about that before. Synthetic hair comes in different lengths?

Hee, I like these un-serious replies. I think what they meant is that they're unsure whether to measure the hair stretched or unstretched, and since the hair drops its curl over time (which is news to me- I never thought it did that just sitting in a bag), they're not sure what length to consider it. They could at least give you a general idea, though.
