Hi there chicks, I'm back from my wedding in Cancun, wow what a beautiful place.  Don't know if you remember but I had fitted myself just before I went with bohyme colours 18/22 14inch with extentubes at the back and shrinkies cut in half at the side.  I lost about 10 shrinkies and no extentubes although there has been some slight slippage but that aint bad considering I've been in the pool and sea every day and washed my hair every day.  The bohyme has held up brilliantly.  I've really got used to handling it.  Well anyway here are the photos.  Have I missed anything juicy xxx

everything looks stunning Amanda.

good to know you had good luck even with all the vacation abuse.

mmm i think I may go baack to extendtubes in the back.  but keep shrinkiesi n the front like you have done.  Seems like a good idea.

Do you find it difficult to deal with both at the same time.  especially int he areas where they border on each other?

Thanks a lot mocha.  I'm so glad I didn't do my whole head shrinkies.  My bridesmaid lost 40 in two weeks which is a lot.  She washed her hair every day as well.  I can't wait to try Amm's shrinkies.  I worked all the extentubes around the back first and then worked the shrinkies around the front and then two back from my ears just around the side if you know what I mean.  All the shrinkies that came out, the pre-tipped hair just came out so it was a bit of a nightmare trying to search for the missing shrinkie.  Thank god I only did my sides LOL.  I'm going to try marie's epoxy next and Amm's shrinkies.  I still think its a better system to offer clients although some do come out.

Shel - thanks so much for the compliment.  I can't wait to see your finished website.  The wedding before and after was a nightmare.  The mother-in-law totally ruined it.  She was full of nasty little comments that could either be seen as insults or just comments so I couldn't really say anything but they've all become clear now that they were insults.  The bridesmaid was a b**** (sister-in-law).  She went with me to the hairdressers the day before to pick her hairdo which was fine, then on the morning of the wedding I turned up to the hairdressers to see her having the exact same style as me and the mother-in-law sat there with a smurk on her face.  When I tried to say something the mother-in-law snapped and said leave it its looking nice.  So I walked out of the hairdressers nearly in tears to my mother.  My mother went in and tried to sort it out and was abused by the mother-in-law who said I was just jealous of my sister-in-law's hair (even though SAS had e-mailed me the style that I had and I took this picture to Cancun with me!) and she didn't want me to marry her son anyway.  To cut a long story short she then refused along with the bridesmaid to go to the ceremony because of "how I had gone off about my hair!!!!!" and then turned up anyway, glaring at me.  It all became clear to me that that had been her intention to try and stop the day from day one.  We nearly couldn't get married because the groom's mum and dad were witnesses but the wedding co-ordinator and he assistant were witnesses for us instead.  Then she made my husband's dad and aunty who had gone too fall out with me and ignore me after the wedding.  Then she had the cheek to have a fit when I refused to put her in my wedding album.  We got back this morning and my mum and dad have refused to go to the reception because of what has happened so that's been cancelled so when my husband texted his mother to tell her to cancel the reception she has arranged, she then said that she was taking back the wedding present "settee" that she had bought us 6 months ago.  But hey at least I've got a chair to my computer LOL.  So that was my ruined wedding and honeymoon.  Apart from that though the actual ceremony and pictures etc were beautiful.  I just blocked them all out of my mind.  Its not nice that my whole husband's family isn't talking to me when I didn't do anything but hey I'm not married to them am I.  We are going to book another honeymoon later on this year to make up for the ruined one, sorry for the moan guys, I know its a hair extension board.  Thank god for my hair, I felt like a princess!!!! xxxx

OMG!!!! She is a total b**** I cant belive she would do such a thing.  I must say, i had to laugh when you said your sister-in law lost 40 shrinkies  serves her right.  I hope she looked a mess.

I think you should have a small reception with a few close friends and relatives and dont invite her or the sister in law and see how they like it then.  Image the cheek of her! taking over and obviously trying to savitage your wedding!

On a good note, even she didnt stop you and your man tying the knot and he seems to be standing by you so his mum will soon see that you do come as a package and if she acts like that then she'll loose out.

Im glad you choose the beach for your photo settings as they are stunning.  You both looked really tanned and lovley.

p.s. if she really does go as far as taking the settee then i wouldnt speak to her for a while, or invite her to yours, or accept anything off her again so she cant do that to you again. Shes so horrible!

Thanks a lot Jenny, its much appreciated.

Shel - I thought that was poetic justice as well.  Me and my mum went to get our nails done in downtown Cancun and she had the cheek a couple of days after the wedding to phone up our room and ask my hubby for the extentube clamp to take out the extentubes that were in her hair, she was using the straighteners for her shrinkies.  My hubby said I don't know where she's put it.  Cheek!  I think we are just going to knock the reception on the head.  His mum, sister, dad and aunty haven't talked to me or my mum since the day of the wedding.  We had all gone to Manchester Airport in a bus together which had been all paid for and we got out bags on the way back and waited for them to get there cos we assumed they would still be coming back in the bus with us and Dean's mum walked up to him and said we've got our own bus see you later.  My dad was fuming.  We had got our cases first so we had been waiting ages for them and they did that.  I don't intend to talk to them again, I think its unforgivable what they've done, you are only supposed to get married once and that's what I've got to remember.  Yes e-mail me, e-mail me, can't wait chick xx

Amanda, I'm so sorry about the pain your inlaws caused you. However this must mean that Dean is one hell of a guy or you would have walked!! I have been doing hair for wedings for 20 years and that is why when I do get maried I will elope!! I have seen it all!! My kids, his kids and that's it I do love the photo's , you would never know looking at them what had gone on. The epoxy tips are worling out great I am awaiting AMM's shrinks.I have a client tuesday to install them in. I do think the shrink sticks better to the epoxy then the nail glue.Oh if planning on children you will have revenge upon them. Very mean thought I know but justifyed I think.

Leia - I hadn't seen my hubby's suit and I thought it was gorgeous too.

Thanks a lot Kimberley

Marie, I can't wait to try out the epoxy, hope it works for me as it has for you.  I know what you mean with the children xxx

Gotta chime in here. . .Amanda. . .those pics are INCREDIBLE!!  I concur with what everyone else said -- including condolences on the MIL --

You, your dress, your hubby, YOUR HAIR!  It looks SO natural and BEEYATIFULLL!!  Where did you buy the hair?

Also - re shrinkie loss - I'm at a loss here. I haven't lost one yet. But then again I *do not* do the nail glue thingie. I still use Liquid Gold tips (I know, behind the times I am!!) but I tell you it's worth it. Removal is really truly a breeze with just a bit of oil.

Keep us posted on the epoxy!!  I'm going to try AMM's suggestion of that stuff from Sally's, I just can't keep working with LG, it's driving me CRAZY.  .  .

Hi there Fina.  Thanks for the compliments.  Thank god for my hair I can tell you, it made me feel a lot better.  I bought the hair from ebonyline.com.  I haven't had a bad batch from them yet.  I'm getting better results from the clients I've done.  I'm starting to get my first set of refits from the first clients I've done and today I got a referral call which made me beem so obviously that client is still happy with her hair.  I'm going to try Amm's shrinkies and the epoxy and use my friend as a guinea pig, not that I'm confident about the results but so I can keep a close monitoring eye on them.  If the epoxy plus Amm's shrinkies go together then we're onto a definite winner.  If not then I'm definitely going to rethink the nail glue because it seems funny that the shrinkies are still in my hair and clients but just the tip has come out???  I already tip with the latex but I'm not sure about just using it, I've heard its a nightmare to get out of people's hair, I'll keep you posted xx

OH! I didn't know that the *hair* was falling out of the *shrinkie*!!

Got it!!  oK, that explains things a bit more. . .you have no adhesion between the shrinkie wall and the tip. hmmmm.

Posted By: Amanda8Beechwoo
Date Posted: April 21 2005 at 2:38pm
The tip comes out and I have to heat the shrinkie out of my hair.  Most of the time the shrinkie is stuck really tight to my hair so its obviously something to do with the shrinkie not adhering to the tip (nail glue) or whatever.  I'm hoping the epoxy will give better results.  I'm going shopping for some tomorrow xx

Amanda...You look so beautiful it almost made me want to get married again...but then I read the story about the inlaws and I changed my mind.  You're right, you're not married to them, and shame on her for trying to sabatoge her son's wedding.  She'll regret her behaviour someday.

Amanda, I have had that happen as well re: the shrinkie staying and the tip coming out.

On this last install I did, I did not top the latex tip with nail glue (which is great for the extentubes method) but I took Liquid Gold and brushed a coat of it around the tip. They're staying put, like Fina said. When the shrinkie went on, the LG added extra adhesion underneath. While still warm, I squeezed/rolled the shrinkie and made sure everything was distributed well inside. You don't need separate LG remover. The shrinkie remover works fine on the LG as well.

Try a couple that way and see how ya like it.

Fina, that Proclaim Super Bond in white is a godsend and it's less than a buck. I picked up about 10 of them when I was there last. If I knew, I would've thrown one in the mail for ya. Run, don't walk to Sally's for that glue. You will be so glad ya did.

Delin - thanks a lot chick, everyone has been really supportive on here, I appreciate that.

Amm - Are you saying to tip with latex and then LG, how does this differ from tipping with LG alone do you think.  I'm having great success with the household glue at the moment.  I've got four clients this weekend so I've had to tip 6 packs of hair which is why I really needed just a one step glue.  I work full time as well you see 9 - 5 so me and my hubby are then having to come home and start tipping hair.  We've got the tipping using household glue down to 1 & 3/4 hours per 4oz pack and we've done 3 so far so only 3 to go yikes.  I've fully tested the household glue and vegetable oil removes it the same as it does with the shrinkie residue, either that or it just doesn't transfer onto the hair.  I'll keep ypu posted as to the staying power xxxx

Amanda-

I think that the main difference is that working with LG alone is simply a BIT*H!!

The latex is a DREAM - you have your beautiful tips, then just put a little LG over them. It's much easier, you don't have all the threadiness of the hair in addition to the threadiness of the LG, etc. The smidgin of LG over the latex tip just gives some added hold.

Well I'll try this glue and keep you posted of the staying power and then the take out in a few weeks and if it doesn't hold up I'm going to do the latex and LG xx
