Well I finally removed my hairlocs, DIY style.  Thanks to you ladies and your encouragement letting me know it would prevent damage to DIY.  It was really easy.

When I finally got them all out the hairlocs left glue in my hair from the pre tip that they used on the hair.  I'm pretty sure it's something like X-10 sion.  So, that was a real bitch taking out.

I lost sooo much hair

With extensions my hair was long down to my bra strap now with them out my hair is thin and 3 to 5 inches from my scalp.  My hair was way thicker and longer before I had the hair locs in.

Anyway, I am going to give my scalp a few days to breath and pre-tip my new hair so that I can install SHRINKIESS!!!

I really hope shrinkies help me to grow my hair.  That was my whole reason to get extensions in the first place.  So that I could instantly have long hair while my real hair actually grew out underneath in hopes to cut down and not need extensions.  I will post before and after photo's soon.

Ladies, has shrinkies helped you grow out your hair?

Uggh...the pretip glue got into your own hair? I haven't heard of that.

When I had hairlocs, I had a lot of damage under the loc (they basically ruined my own hair underneath them), but I didn't have any glue residue. Then again, I didn't have much hair left to have the the residue on!

Anyway, I haven't worn a full head of shrinkies, but I've had some success growing my hair with pinchbraids. Hairlocs, GLs, and Cinderella totally trashed my hair, though, so the road back to healthy real hair will be a long one.

Good luck! :)

Well I'm on my first set of shrinkies and though I've lost some of them I haven't been losing my hair when I lose them.

I had no problem with mircrorings either except the feew that i folded in half when taking htem out. I'm still stunned bythe problems with hairlocs which should be quite similar.

But I had th emost redical transformation of my hair with braids.  Full on all of my own hair incorporated .  and then left them open ended.  so much less washing, my hair protected from the elements since it was wrapped up int he synth for the braids.

I'm going with pinch braids all the way to the top next.  I had planned on it for a while because of the look I want but I suspect that it will also be a good chaoice for hair growth/condition.

whatever you do next let us shave some pics!

Yea, it sucked!!!

The reason glue was left in my hair is because the salon pretipped the hair extensions with keritin and nothing else, they didn't cover the keritin with anything to protect my hair before clamping down on the hairloc.  On occssion I would flat iron my hair or use a hot dryer, maybe the heat caused some of the keritin from the extension to melt into my own hair.

My hair is so short and damaged

Thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it!
