Received my order from Softgentlebreeze whose eBay store is called CONNECT-2-HAIR EXTENSIONS. She sells synthetic hair called Profibre and advertises it as "high grade."

OK, gals, let's hear what you think! This is the home game.

The product does seem to speak for itself, but it doesn't seem to be saying the same thing the seller was saying...

Did the first picture of the blonde spagetti string  posing as hair actually arrive in the mail like that or was that after you washed it? Why does the second picture of hair that you received look totally different? Pitiful

there is no way your pic is the hair that they were selling. dispute payment, report them to ebay- how absurd! and dissapointing!

yeah, told you so, her human hair looks different from the photos on ebay also

connect-2-hair aka softgentlebreeze aka hannahhair aka profibrehaircompany aka hotdog aka angeleyeslady aka jasmin...

...emailed random ebay suppliers with my full name and address telling them not to deal with me (just because i didnt like her HH) and that is illegal as she is breaking data protection law.  You better not complain to her amm or the same may happen to you.  She also said she didnt keep any card details and shredded them all but then had mine the next day??? strange? I spoke to a lawyer on Friday and will finally get this sorted out.

LOL elvira!

Anyone have a Puli in need of extensions?

No disrespect meant to any Pulis out there. Woof.

The hair is unwashed and shown out of the bag still tied in its original band.

The 2nd photo probably looks different because I had to coil the hair in order for it to all sit flat on the scale and therefore I denied you of its silky beauty as depicted when it's laid out flat.

The strands look almost as thought someone put way too much silicone on what could possibly be decent grade hair.  I've made my PH look like that.  But you couldn't tell whether it was good hair or not if it was that drenched in silicone.  So I guess my question is.  Does it feel greasy?  Cause seriously I bought some BSS hair a couple weeks about for this cheap ass wig I was modifying.... Anyhow the Sassy brand $4 hair looked better than that.

How does it feel when you  rub it between your fingers?

Have you tried brushing the ends?

I'd love to see what else is wrong with it! (Is that like some weird Hair S&M thing?)

ooh was it advertised straght or wavy?  which is it?

so many questions...

I really dont have a knowledge like anyone else on here about hair extensions but am learning very quickly!!  Great board.

I just wanted to say that if I had been waiting for that hair to arrive I would have been so disappointed at what I had received.

The other thing I wanted to say is that when a business/company/or ebay seller gets all the bad comments made about them and people start saying they rubbish etc, it makes people very curious and believe it or not it makes the businesss/company or ebay sellers  profits increase as people are very curious and will make a purchase just to find out about them.

Who knows, she says in her ebay adverts that she is selling off alot of her hair to make way for "new stock" so maybe she had a few complaint about her hair.  Plus i dont think its fair for her to say she has the finest quality human hair when it has all undergone an acid bath which she refers to as a disinfectant process.  How can you get 3 grades of human hair which is described as remi and all acid bathed? what makes them different from each other besides the price?

Well, at least we all had a good laugh...  The hair does look really piecy and over loading w/product.  The weight is way off too!

You can make a big ball out of it and send it to Kalika's kitty to play with!

I know with false advertising on Ebay that it can be reported especially if it is something you have received and its not like in the auction.  Also if paid via paypal they will give the money back to you.  I would definetly be informing Ebay as the hair advertised is nothing like the hair you received and the weight is totally different.

I have looked at the website of softgentlebreeze (connect-2-hair) and noticed that it states that she is a Trainer for the Princes Trust to train people how to do hair extensions, this is false information as I have checked with the Princes Trust and they stated that her website is false advertising, they are also going to be looking into it.  They stated that they do have trainers who do hair extenion training but she is not one of them.  When looking at the website it gives the impression that you get the training free with a grant that is given by Princes Trust and all you do is go along to the local Jobcentre for an application form complete it and hey presto your accepted.  I do think that there is a lot of false advertising goes on everywhere and if its not reported then I suppose people like ourselves will be caught up in the process of it all.

I do state though that all this bad publicity will make people very curious!!

Whoa!!   Ginger

Amm & Shel221,

You both should send one e-mail, using Amm’s e-mail address, notify e-bay of this board and include links directly to were we (the consumers of E-bay) exchange our experiences of their vendors which they allow to run amok, I'm sure they will have a change of mind pretty quickly.  Let them read posts of us complaining directly about this vendor and her horrible products & conduct for which she was finally banned from this board.

Shel221 if eBay denied you of anything or ignored your attempts to set the record straight they owe you an apology and Amm this should protect you when she sets out on a rampage to get back at you for complaining about her and trying to get a refund.

Once e-bay is notified of all her e-mail aliases, the fact that she is lying about being a trainer for the Princes Trust and how she tries to get people banned who complain about her products, they will have no choice but to ban her as she has been banned from this board.

I suppose there are a few people who scam people and we have all probably heard it about it on the news etc about scammers!! on Ebay and other places aswell.  I do think that Ebay should have strict policy/rules for sellers who are just scamming.

The other thing I wanted to ask members is what do you have to do to set up as a Trainer to teach people hair extensions, in the UK I would have presumed that you would need to be licensed or something I am not sure.  I have read with the big companies like Racoon, Prostyles, Balmain etc that they wont give you a certificate until you are up to the standards that they expect.  Not sure if this is true.  What training has this Connect-2-Hair woman had or offering.  Probably extortionate prices etc!!!

Ooooffff!!!

To actually be qualified in extensions in the Uk you need to get a HABIA qualification (Hairdressing and beauty Industry Authority) Im not sure whether after you get this qualification that you can just teach people, i think you may need a further course with them to be able to give this qualification to pupils.  To get a HABIA qualification and take their class you need to be a level 3 stylist.

Other than that there are a few places who will train you in extensions (who may not actually be HABIA qualified) take your money, then leave you to get on. You then may find it hard to get insured for public liability as you are not fuly qualified.

This is interesting....I have contacted Balmain who state that you dont have to be trained or be qualified as a Hairdresser.  If you pay the training course fee anyone can go along to the training course and as long as your upto par they will give you the certificate to prove your trained and then you can  start applying hair extensions to clients. (this is just not to be a trainer - just applying hair extensions)which is what I want to learn how to do professionally!

I also checked out another company called Hair X, they come along to your home and train you on a one to one basis.  I think the price is £750 +VAT and then its off you go to let loose on peoples heads.

I suppose if you have a flare for this then you pick it up really quickly!!

Phewww!!

yeah but you have to be a level 3 stylist to actually get a HABIA qualification.  But you can still get training off anywhere else but and you would be trained to do extensions but ust not be HABIA qualified.  (not that it really makes much difference so long as you had good training)

Im insured through Swinton, how much are gel Amanda?

Im not sure where its being held yet chick but i will defo let you know. Its £25 for the training or if you buy the kit, they deduct the £25 off the cost of the kit.  I think the kits are £99 and £150 or something similar to that.  The only reason i know is because we have a new Sassy (salon services) just opened up near where i stay and they had a girl from Balmain in earlier today to demonstrate extensions and she mensioned it to me.  She took my number and says she will call me for details. I stay just outside Glasgow area so it may be near there. Where do you stayGinger?

I asked them about their hair (as heard bad reviews) they say its indian hair which is processed over a few days (im sure she said) well thats their natural colours anyway, they also have funky colours which is just monofibre.  Even for £25 you can get a certificate and learn the course and always use another hair.  They also sell the pre-tips which you can use for loose hair. I think it would be best to do that as at £12.50 per pack of 10, it would cost anything between £160 - £200 just for enough for a full head.  I Had a shot at the pre-bonds today and was surprised at how easy it is (as im a fusion girl)

I will pm you with the details when they contact me and wil maybe see you there

Oh and the training will include applying multiple extensions at once (similar to GL's air pressure machine method) only a little slower (22 strands in 5 mins as apposed to 10 strands in 20 seconds).  It seems pretty exciting!

Does Balmain also offer courses in the States for nonhairdressers? I'll check on their website. I would love to take a course and learn how to install at a faster rate.

Wasn't Softgentlebreeze the company/person that they were talking about over on the blackhairboard? I wish I could remember but I'll look over at their site. If it was her, she has a pretty shady background.

Follow up.

SGB refunded my money and claims she has also refunded Shel's
money.

SGB claims this Profibre hair has serum on it and when it's brushed,
it gets silky.

That's incorrect. The hair temporarily loses the stringy appearance
and after a few shakes, it comes right back.

She also claims she's never had a negative feedback on the hair.

I changed that today.,

Hi Amm, she refunded my money on 22nd on the card that she apparently didnt keep the details of (which she said on 21st) checked with the bank today.  She only refunded as she knows she sent my confidential details out in random emails which is against the law and breaches data protection (she has admitted doing this) Her hair was sent back to her as Kalika suggested and good ridince, it was horrible hair.  I will never deal with her again as she is soooo unprofessional.

Ginger - that price for Cinderella is actually really good.  You can actually make your own nail hair with the cinderella machine and their wax tips $$$$$$ (lol)

Elvira - Thanks for the pic yeah thats the one they are going to train us on too.  It must be a special offer as surely it cant be £25 all the time as its dirt cheap.  When the girl gets back in touch with me with full details i will put it as a new topic to give others the chance to enroll also.  Even if its just a basic training with certificate its still okay for £25. My course was £500

Hey Shel, thought you'd like to know she revealed your name to me
in a correspondence. She also gave me negative ebay feedback
claiming it's on "behalf of [insert your name]." How bizarre. Giving
ME negative feedback because of you.

Update: Now she's trying to get me to mutally withdraw my negative
feedback on the hair. Translation: I pull my negative first and she'll
pull hers. Ahhhhh, I never do respond well to acts of coercion.

My question is -- aren't sellers supposed to give positive feedback
when you pay for an item immediately? I mean, after all, we do hold
to our end of the bargain. I've always found eBay sellers to be
dishonest at best when they hold feedback until they see what you
give them.

Argghh Yes they are supposed to give you feedback when you hold up your end of the bargain.  For example Carol at Vixenwigs gave me wonderful feedback as soon as my payment to her went through.  Sis she followup with an amil sayingthat things were shipping that she had left me positive feedback and would appreciate some when I received the hair?  Absolutely.  Did I get the hair yesterday and am I now reminded that I hsould go leave her some feedback as well?  Yes indeedy.  But then again I probably would have left her positive feedback regardless of what she left for me.  She held up her end of the bargain.

Your job as a buyer isn't to be happy with a misrepresented product.  It's to pay in a timely fashion, make sure the seller has an appropriate address, and give an honest review of the product.

Sorry this BS really irks me (on yours ans shel's behalf).

This is a really good point. I've read in many auction descriptions, "We will leave feedback when you leave yours." And that's some bullsh*t, now that I think about it.

As for this particular seller, SoftGentleSleaze is more like it.

Amm dont withdraw your feedback! let other sellers know what shes like, she has my name incorrect anyway.  I have contaced ebay ordering them to contact me immediately and also asked for that fraudster to be suspended on ebay,  and asked ebay to assist me with my legal battle.  I asked them to contact me as what she is doing is illegal.  LET THIS BE A WARNING TO ALL BUYERS ABOUT THIS FRAUDSTER!!!!

Leaving feedback on ebay is entirely upto the individual have a look at the message boards on Ebay its always on about feedback.  If the seller or buyer do not want to leave feedback they dont have.  The wonderful world of ebay.

I took at look as sgb and to be honest that is pretty childish.
