Yep, my sister ( a stylist) cut off alot of my hair in the back. She said the front was thin due to extensions. That doesn't mean I can't add to the back tho, eh? HAHA! I didn't add much, just had some spare PH, cut it's length in half, and braided two rows in the back. It added about 3 inches, just enough that I don't feel so naked. Color isn't perfect, but will take care of that this week by blending two colors and making it a few inches longer. How's it look? Not bad for 40 minutes, I suppose, and being new at this..... My natural hair is shoulder length.

It looks great, Shadow! You must have very nice real hair to be able to pull that off with so few extensions. I LOVE the color, by the way; it's just gorgeous!

Do you think you have thinning in the front--from wearing loose extensions or dreads or what? How long have you been wearing extensions for? :)

Thank you!

Well, I think the reason I went thin/broken at my hairline is I've worn double ended dreads or braids for almost a year. Almost always in a ponytail. I was a big dummyhead and used elastics (not the ouchless ones...my bad!) to anchor the dreads to my head so I could braid them in. The tension resulted in hair breakage and thinning. I am hoping if I just keep a few rows in the back for length, maybe in time the front will get better....

The two rows I have in are pencil thin 2 inch long braids, about 10 in each row. I hope they hold up okay.

Wow... what a pretty colour!

My hair is very similar looking in texture... do you consider yours to be curly or wavy? (sorry if this is a dumb question)

I guess curly, as it's permed with a body wave but my hair curls fast and easily. Prob because it's so porous due to all of the abuse! I used the PH 28 curl for the extensions. I like the fact that it's forgiving due to the curliness :)

I added another row of plaastichair. I'm much happier with this length and my husband really likes it.

nice.  That's a lot of length and a lot of hair to add with just one row.

How much hair and how many braids are you doing per row?

I can't believe that yesterdays addition took you only 40 minutes...

Hey Mocha. The braids are pencil thickness...maybe 8 to 10 per row.

My trick? My husband made me a giant needle type tool with an eye big enough to thread the hair through. I wet the hair itself, then snip the end at a slight angle, and thread it through the "needle".

I pre-section my hair into tiny ponytails for each extension with clear ouchless bands. Then I thread the hair through the base of each pony. I use two mirrors so I can make each side even, then proceed to braid for an inch or 2, then secure with a band. The ouchless bands that anchored the pony can be snipped off.

It's SO easy, yet not as permanant as all of the other methods, which is fine, as I dont mind tightening them every so often, and, as much as I change my hair, it works great for me.

It looks really great shadow, but what will you do to make the texture match your own after the wave drops out of the PH?

By the way I really like the second photo, I like the longer length! Are you gonna add any more? Before you know it you'll have Amm butt-length hair! LOL
