so ...did we ever determine that wawa straight will hold a curl??? i'm gonna be going to DC next week for two weeks for some seminars and figure that it's an easy morning routine to toss my hair into a pony, and clip a claw or banana clip over it. I like the look of loose curls best... so if i'm gonna make these, what synth is gonna be best...and quick!!! i have a revlon piece that's a scrunchie....i don't like their hair. rather dry! ------------- has someone been swimming in the shallow end of the gene pool again? |

Define "hold."
Here's the look of WaWa straight after it was curled with velvet hot rollers. It was fabulous. There's WaWa 613, 27, 30 and 33 in there (with a few random strands of this that and other things.) 
The thing about WaWa straight after its curled is that it still retains a curl and eventually after a several washings drops to a beautiful wave. I never completely lost the wave unless I put an iron to it. I got about 2 months wear out of WaWa straight and I highly recommend it. The last week I wore it before installing the Plastikhaar, I trimmed it between shoulder and bra strap length. cool...since she's in Philly, i think i need to be ordering from her!! did you say if you email her, there's something else going on instead of the ebay stuff??? oooh, and since it's synth...i don't have to worry about cuticle alignment...i can do the kalika layering thingy too if i want!! :) ------------- has someone been swimming in the shallow end of the gene pool again? |

I ordered some straight wa wa for a client/friend of mine and for the life of us, we can't get the stuff to curl! An iron doesn't do anything, and either do the hot rollers. My curly wa wa doesn't curl with and iron, but curls nicely with hot rollers. isnt it odd....same brand different results with curling. I havent tried the wawa yet but my experience with the ebonyline thermal was at first it took longer and was more difficult to curl, but the more it was washed and the longer it was in the easier and less time it took to curl. I had it in for 2 months and by the time I took it out, it curled about the same as my HH. Only that I had to be careful when unwinding the curl off the iron or else if I pulled it straight while the curl was hot it would straighten the curl out. It has to cool before you desturb the curl. |

My straight WaWa curls beautifully with a hot curling iron a strand dampened with water. The straight WaWa is the only one of the thermos I've been messing with that even keeps some of the curl after washing. SOME.
The WaWa body wave has a different texture - much more 'yaky' than the straight. It does straighten with steam, that's for sure.
That's very important. |

I didn't try with an iron but have had no problems with rollers for hsf and wawa. |
