Hello everyone!
This weekend I took out my braids--and it was terrible!! I left them in too long so it was extremely dry and ready to snap off!! I live on the UCLA campus, and if anyone knows about Westwood, you know that there is NOTHING for black people when it comes to hair.  Of COURSE I didn't have any good shampoos or conditioners because I JUST learned about what types of products to avoid (Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Mineral Oil, Petroleum/Petrolatum, ALCOHOL!!!) and sadly 90-99% of Hair products (except natural ones) have one or some of these horrible things!  So I went to rite aid which has an extremely massive selection of  hair products and I found the most wonderful hair moisturizer I have ever used!  I spent like an hour and a half reading labels, and this only had one questionable ingredient- much better than the others.  Anyway, I tried it and it smells great, its light, it maintains moisture for the entire day, and it has UV protection!! Great stuff! Everyone should try it!

my hair looks great by the way!  I didn't blow dry! he he he! its 2.5 inches past my collar bone--- I cant wait to get a digital camera so I can post pictures! I still havent taken hairtopia because I was waiting to get cornrows first ( to be able to measure the growth without difficulty b/c my hair is all natural baby!!) but Ill just measure it starting today until June 8th.  Cant wait to tell about the HAIRTOPIA results.

Sounds good, I heard alot about this product. Alot of good things.  You stated your hair was dry after removing the braids. Did you keep the braids moisturized, just like you would do your  own hair?

I keep meaning to try that line but it's expensive for a drugstore brand.

true that! it is a little steeply priced... but it was an emergency!!! I hadn't been moisturizing my braids like I should have... I took the advice of my mother who said that my braids would be too hard to take out because of product build up... I didn't have much product build up, BUT my hair was SOOOOO dry!! aaaugh!!I think I'll try moisturizing at least every other day with a spray instead of heavy oils or grease....That way I can get the best of both worlds! Not too dry, not too sticky!!
Oh!  ill be sure to try the hennalucent and deep recovery mask.  Thanks!

I've really been thinking about trying this line also but I agree with Layla, it is steeply priced for a drugstore product.  I want to try the deep recovery mask or the shampoo?? I think I will try this now that I heard it's good.

Yes, this is a very good line and I keep it in constant rotation along withmy Elucence Products. i've tried and liked everything except for the hair mask.

The hair mask didn't work too well for me but I like the Triple Moisture oil treatment.  I use Phyto 9 as a leave in and love it but do not love the price. The Neutrogena Leave-In is a pretty good alternative for much less.

I love the hair mask and the shine serum.  I was thinking about trying the daily deep conditioner and the silk touch leave-in cream, but I have not gotten around to it.  Anyone used these yet?

Yes, that is what I meant when I said I've used the leave in (just forgot the name and too lazy to look up).  I like it.  It conditions and moisturizes but doesn't weigh down the hair.  I have not tried the serum nor the daily deep conditioner.  I probably won't try the daily conditioner since the mask did not work for me.

The daily deep conditioner works wonders!!! I use it 3 times a week and It works better on my hair than most salon products.

I've heard good things about this line also and wanted to give it a try. I have tons of products I need to use up so wanted to wait a while b4 spending more $$$$$, plus I don't have a lotta more space in my bathroom cabinets. Then I read on another forum where Target's had some of the items in this line on sale for $1.61!!!! (LHCF)  I thought yeah, now's my chance to try them. Unfortunately, my area stores didn't have this sale. Anyway, it's still on my list to try!!
