hey all
i have my ball (kinda like a prom) coming up on the 27th. i want to go back to my natural dark brown color from a light golden blonde. i only want it for that night, as i think it will look better in the pictures.i dont want it to last more than a week, and my question is what should i use. i have heard that semi and demi permanent can be more permanent than permanent when going darker. sould i try one of those color gels our mouses, or would that dark color stain my hair as well? any advice would be much appreciated

If your hair was lightened to light blonde, your best bet for something that temporary is probably color shampoo.  If your hair has been lightened it usually sticks much better to it (it would hardly stick at all to natural hair).  I don't mean color enhancing, I mean color depositing with pigment (looks like paint in the bottle).  You would have to use it many times, washing with only that and not conditioning afterwards to see the color change, but eventually it should build up to the point where it's brown.  Then when you don't want it anymore you'd just have to wash a few times with your regular shampoo.

I'd suggest trying it in advance to make sure you get the color you really want and that it works for you.

Get a wig, definitely. You don't want to wreck your hair for one night.

For the amount of money it would cost to color your hair professionally, then try to put it back (successful or not), you can get a really nice wig that you will have for other occasions.

Why don't you just use a temprorary colour to get it brown, and then lighten it again afterwards if you need to?

darkening your hair with a temporary color is anything but temporary.

Get a wig.
