I was wondering how everyone was doing this month? A few posted the April results, but I was wondering about the rest. Are you still in it? Any progress? Hope everything is going well.

Hey, I'm still in. I was having some minor breakage- a coupla ends a day. I think i found the culprit- my new leave-in(it has alcohol in it)- it only last a week or two before i discussed what was causing it. So for now i have discontinued use of it. Also i got cornrows today- they look so good on me- i plan to keep them in until the end of june. The girl blowdried my hair straight after a co wash and i could tell that my hair has grown a great deal lately, i had a 1 1/4 inches of new growth since Jan. Well wish me luck and i may need some support cause around the 3rd week i'm gonna wanna take these out. I plan to use castor oil , mowrah butter, sunflower butter, shapley's m-t-g and shea butter as my moisturizers. Plan on shampooing and conditioning weekly-will dilute both.

I am still here my hair progress is slow. YTesterday I got some braids so hopefully this will help it grow faster. I had been using the Pantene line but looking to change I  think it is drying out my hair.

kally your right I've heard ppl say that pantene is bad...i think its mainly bec of the silicone and other crap.....i myself have tried pantene in the past (years ago) and it did make my hair dry too.

Great progress carmel!! I know how hard it is to keep braids in. I want them out the next day! I'm so impatient. But they are good in the long run. I haven't found a braided style that I like enough to keep in a while though.

As for pantene, I think Renee here likes it. I haven't had much luck with it at all. It alwasy made my hair dry.

yeah im still in it.......oh i dont like pantene. it destroyed my hair. i heard a lot of good things about the detangling spray and got it. But i just couldnt do it with what the 3 minute deep conditioner did to my hair so i returned it. I dont use any pantene products........kally, the pantene also dried out my hair because of buildup from silicones so you should clarify before looking for a new line of products. Good luck

im 2 months post and the ends have beeen getting dry. probably because my mom put relaxer on it when she helped me relax. i got some shea butter and used it and its helping now.....what mane and tail product do you like? i keep on wanting to get something but im not sure which one. maybe the detangler?

Still going strong!!!!

I was looking at the Pantene line awhile back and noticed that their shampoos have ammonium lauryl and laureth sulfates in them and if I'm not mistaken the relaxed and natural formula also has petrolatum in it  To me it seems like theres nothing moisturizing or conditioning about that stuff at all.

I like the Mane n' Tail Moisturizing Conditioner and the carrot creme. The conditioner is great for shedding and retaining length.

Yes, I am still in. I think my hair is doing fine. The other day I had to do 3 detangling sessions. Very painful, and I usually don't have that problem. I let this girl style my hair after I washed and styled hers. She braided my hair pretty small. The thickness of each braid was equal to a toothpick. I Kept them in for a few days, they were cute, I had them in a frenchroll a few times, but I noticed the braids were tangling to I decided to take them down, which took 2 days.  and 3 detangling sessions. Not fun.

Other than that I'm doing great! My hair is alot better, all tangles out umm after the 4th detangling!

Still hangin in there, the health of my hair has improved greatly. Now I'm just waiting on the length. I think thats really the hard part, waiting on the growth. I"m at 10 weeks post and its driving me crazy. I just wash once a week now. b/c the new groth is too much to deal with any more then that.

Mine started to shedd a bit, but I started putting shealoe on in the morning and the night , I put on my scalp/newgrowth, and on the ends of my hair and brush it into a bun, I do that once in the morning and once at night. I am also moisturizing with a mixture of WGHO, Recovery, and NTM Silk touch leave in. I love mixing stuff together, so it can be applied all at once, b/c I can get lazy at times.

Layla, I use mane n tail conditioner to combat shedding it and works really well. For a good protein treatment I used Hennalucent and afterwards I had almost no shedding. I washed my hair today and applied MNT for about 20 minutes. When I detangled I probably had about 10-15 hairs that came out from my entire head. That for me was great progress.

Is shedding bad? Because I don't really mind mine. Cebnn, what kind of bun do you do? Can you give me step-by-step instrunctions, please?

Shedding isn't bad I dont guess, but its caused by the two different textures, and if you just keep  the area where the newgrowth meets the relaxed hair moisturized it will help with the shedding. My bun is really nothing special. my hair isn't long enough for a doughnut bun, well it is, but its tiny and I dont like the way it looks.  I just put it up and seperate my poneytail like im gonna do a twist, and wrap the two strands around each other and secure with two bobby pins.

As Cebnn said shedding isn't necessarily bad, however some people have excessive shedding that can be caused by the two textures and sometimes certain health issues or deficiencies. I was having excessive shedding and wasn't happy with it.

Im sad. my hair appears to be quite healthy but I am losing like 5 ends a day.  not even full hairs!! WHat can I do?  How often do you all moisturize your ends?  aCcording to my own regimen, Im supposed to moisturize my ends twice daily with pure jojoba oil at night and moisturizing lotion.  I have two concerns. One is that i may be promoting product build up, and two I havent done it this week because I just paid 50 to get it flatironed and I don't want it to look dirty and greasy so soon!  What do you all do when your hair is flat ironed?  do you still moisturize daily?

other than that, my hair looks nice and its about 3 and a half inches past shoulder length.  It hasn't been this long since before I started doing my own hair!! it doesn't break as much as it used to, so thats pretty cool, but aaaaaah!  Im nervous about its health because I haven't moisturized enough...at least I dont think I have...

Do you guys think I should ever have broken ends?

Well what kind of flat iron was it? Was it the kind they put in that heating/oven or was it the kind that you plug in? It could be the direct heat that is causing that. But once we get the answer maybe we could find a better alternative.

it was the kind they put in the heating oven.... it didn't smoke much and it didn't smell burned... but it is extremely straight so the lack of smoke was probably because i had no kind of heat protector on it. should I be using plug-ins?

Plug in ones are better because you can control the temperature on them (high, medium, low), unlike the heating oven one.

You should start moisturizing your hair again. If you're worried about your hair getting greasy just do it once a day and with smaller amounts.

I'm still here too! I've still been using Wild Growth Oil and it's made my hair healthier and thicker. Next Saturday is my touch-up. It has been 3 months since my last touch-up so I'm about ready to go 2 my hairdresser. There hasn't been too much breakage which is a pleasant surprise. As for styles I've put it up in a bun and used B&B's Pink Oil Moisterizer for my scalp and WGO every Wednesday. I've washed weekly and let it air dry pinned up. I haven't worn my hair down since 2 1/2 months. So I'll give another update when I get my touch-up. God bless everyone and happy hair growing!

Jesuschris#1:

Do you put anything in the WHGO to help with the smell?? It's ok sometimes but other times, like when I'm going out, I'd like my hair to smell like something other than wok oil!! Anyway it sounds like your hair is doing really well. Keep us posted about how it's going. I have such a hard time wearing my hair up because I love to wear it down, but I do alternate, about 2 days a weeks I will wear it down and the rest of the time I keep it up.

Hi Honeydoo!

Actually, I've gotten quite used to WGO, so I don't use anything to help the smell. But when I shampoo my hair with Fantasia Natural Tea Tree shampoo and then put the WGO on my scalp, the combination sort of smells like fresh lemons . So I guess that works for me. But mostly I just withstand the smell. When you keep using it you get used to it and it wears off soon too. I would suggest maybe using a spray of some sort after you put the WGO on, such as Motions Oil Sheen Spray. It smells absolutely fantastic and it might cover the odor of WGO. Other than that I don't know what else to recommend, I'm sorry. But maybe u can put the WGO on an hour before going out or at night. It's not recommended for daily use, but since I have a really dry scalp I use the B&B Oil daily and the WGO once a week.

Right now it's impossible for me to wear my hair down because of the thick new growth. I rarely use heat except 4 my bangs and I barely use a blow dyer. The less heat the better. I actually have a question for you, Honeydoo. How long have you been having a relaxer and approximately how long did it take for you to grow your hair in between bra-lenth and middle of your shoulder? I really love long hair and I'm looking forward to accomplishing my goal which is the same as yours (bra-length then eventually waist length.) Okay, sorry 4 the long post. God bless u!

i'm here too.  I've bene pretty good about moisturizing my hair...i use Aveda all over and started putting my shea mix on the ends before i braid it at night and i like the difference in my hair.

so far so good i'd say...my hairs been growing (maybe its the biotin?) pretty well and my curl pattern seems to be more defined which i like.

Sorry it took so long for me to post back Jesus! My hair was cut up to the bottom of my ear lobes two years ago and I've been growing it out ever since. I did have a few months last year where I went crazy using a hot curler (which I never used until then). I had alot of end breakage otherwise I would have been at my goal by now. But Now my hair is alot thicker and softer.

I still use WGHO and I love it's affect. I actually just found out that the fragrance of Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Shampoo and Conditioner actually overrides the smell of WGHO and almost everything else I put into my hair. It's a really nice smell.

I've been relaxing since I was about 11 but I wasn't consistent. I owuld go for a year without a touch-up and one time I went for almost two years. These last two years I've been more consistent and I pay attention to when my hair is due and if I can stretch longer. Hope this helps. God Bless U 2!!!!
