If you are trying to look more piecy at the ends, use a pomade or styling wax on the ends of your hair.  This will create a chunky and textured look.  Try Garnier Fructis fiber gum putty pliable molding, extra strong; Redken concrete 22 cement paste; L'Oreal alt. Studio Remix Paste, Extreme Texture; or KMS Hair Play Molding Paste.  Just use these ultra strong products on the middle to ends of hair, not near your scalp.

Make sure to use a good clarifying shampoo to get these products out of your hair so they'll continue to work well each time you apply them.  Try Tresemme European Deep Cleansing Shampoo or Tigi Bed Head Self-Absorbed, Mega Vitamin Shampoo.

Goodluck!

Have you tried putting product in it, just a little on the roots more on the ends (small amount of gel maybe), then flipping your head over and blow drying while brushing it upside down?

Along with the products to define the ends of your hair, you could use a spray that enhances shine because in the pix that person has a v. good shine to their hair. I don't know if its the way the light is hitting it, but a spray might help get you closer to that style. It looks like they've been teasing the sides with a comb to create volume, you might like to try that; also perhaps a volumising product? Keep experimenting!

I think your hair looks realy good the way it is,
but I understand the need of changing as I myself color my hair all the time..

I too think your hair looks great as it is already. If you can't achieve the look you want, don't be too disappointed cos it looks great. :)
