This is going to be photo intensive to show detail. Hope nobody's on dial-up.

What can be said that hasn't been said already. I love Plastikhaar. I love it the more I wear it. It intimidated me at first because I didn't know how to style or really care for it on a first hand basis but it's really so simple.

I wash and condition it with human hair products twice a week and that's it. Feria conditioner makes the hair like silk. I no longer use fabric softener. I do not use any of the Dome Care (the four bottles I have remain untouched), I do not use any serums or Flasher. I do not curl it with rollers either. The 50mm wave is still tremendous. I will tell you all that I have a water softener for my house and I think that makes a huge difference.

The bottom three photos are how I roll it up to when I want to sleep with all this hair. I do kinda the boink thing but I keep the hair down so as not to put tension on the shrinkies. I never bend the ends of the hair either so they are kept smooth. The only thing different I do that I did not show in the photos is that I usually use about 2 or 3 fabric scrunchies that cover the entire bound hair so it's all protected.

In regard to the shrinkies... I have lost none, by the way. They're all still there and holding great.

OK, here's the pics. You're just gonna die when you see how awesome it still looks.

Jeeze, Amm, I think that looks even better than the pics you first posted!Less piecey at the ends and softer. I used my regular conditioner on my thermofiber the other day when I washed, and I think it wore better for those couple of days than when I re-washed with the fabric softener. Today I experimented with regular conditioner and FS spritzed on as a leave in. We'll see how it goes.

Your hair is truly stunning.

Amm  that's awesome.  Now I'm thinking maybe I should try some human products next go 'round.  the giant bun thingy i'm sure is key for maintaining the wave.

amanda - #4 is usually kokos in PH.  mahaghoni is ever so slightly redder.  I'm sure others have opinions as well.

Yeah, the twisty thing (your quasi-boink) is the *only* way to sleep. I knew this and slept in braids anyway and it's just *not right*.

I need to get some of your long shrinkies Amm. I'm glad they're holding! I've begun to lose the ones that I didn't pretip w/LG (I only used the Proclaim). Fortunately it was only a few of them.

Still jacking with Human Hair in the front; can't seem to get around that. But for that gorgeous length & volume. . .PH rules. . .

Amanda: The PH Blonde mixed with Platin or Vanille makes a great 18/22. I can send you some samples if you want. . .

Looks amazing, AMM. I love it! PH is sooo low-maintenance.

I hardly ever use the fabric softener anymore either--just a bit on the ends from time to time--I don't really think it's necessary, although I do find the Dome Care helpful for detangling.

That's a good point about not bending the ends of the hair when boinking. The only time I've gotten into trouble with the boinks is when I ended up inadvertently crimping the ends by wrapping them up too tight.

Are you blowing out or steaming the ends at all, or using hot rollers?

Again, it looks gawgeous!

:)

I haven't gotten around to getting a steamer. I keep looking at them online but I can't seem to decide. Next thing you know, another week goes by and the hair still doesn't need it.

I blew out the ends once after a bad boinking episode. It bounced right back into shape. Other than that, I never blow dry it.

The wave is what's blowing me away. It still looks wavy even after a shower and it's all wet. It actually dries wavy, too.

LD, I will take PH over WaWa because of the color range and length. I like WaWa's texture but the PH looks way more real to me.

Thanks everyone!

Here's another photo! Wee!

Yeah, a steamer probably isn't necessary then. I think it can be more helpful for stylists who are doing tons of synth installs all the time, but the blow-dryer works just as well. It's even better if you don't need to blow-dry at all. :)

Your hair is adorable its gorgeous.

What I want to know is how on earth do you guys do your own hair.  I would like to do mine but somehow would find it fiddly round the back.  Can anyone give me any advice on how to do an install on my own hair.

It might take me time to do but would save me a lot of money.

Help!!

Oh my gosh, Amm, that is sooo gorgeous!!! I never knew PH could be so beautiful! I pretty knew and I've only used HH. Now, I REALLY feel the need to experiment. It just sounds too good to be true!!!! Is it really that easy? How long was your hair to begin with?

Oh yeah, PH is super nice. My own hair is kind of this "V"/bluntish cut and is between shoulder and bra strap length. When I bring it forward it just barely clears my shoulders. I took a photo of it before this install. Yikes!

The thing is, the undamaged hair has gotten longer but it's still wispy thin because of the Hairlocs. Ugh. I hate my hair. But I hated my natural hair before extensions so whatever. I just love having all this fun with new hair now.
