I need some advice on hair coloring:

1) What is the minium ammount of time I should wait between coloring my hiar as not to damage it

2) What brand(s) use the least ammount of harmfull chemicals or are least damaging to hair?

Thanks!

There is no "minimum" amount of time. The key is that you want to never overlap the solution on previously dyed hair. So you have to touch up your roots, and only your roots, not redyeing the whole thing.

The box always says to put color through your whole head the last five minutes. I never do, and I think this would be cumulatively damaging to long hair.

If you're planning on going darker rather than lighter, use a demipermanent color, which will not damage your hair.
