Has anyone had experience using yarn in individual braids instead of synth or HH? If so did it work for you? And how does it do when it gets wet?  I have saw pics online of yarn ext. and I like the looks of it and like the cost too...

thanks!

you might want to try posting on Quinnsters hair board. I know there are alot of people over there that have done yarn extensions. Try looking through the show offs and you should find some of the posts with yarn.

I had both good and bad experiences with yarn (though neither
terrible).  The first time I did it was with a chenille type yarn,
ribbon, and jewlery cord.  GREAT results.  I'm going back to
it next time I put in extentions.

Pictures of that....

The second time I did regular knitting yarn in red and black, and the
salvaged silver cording from the first try.  Okay results except
my roomate used beeswax in my hair (I had helmet head for a week
afterwards after two showers a day) and the regular knitting yarn was
MUCH more tangly.   Photos here....

In neither case did I get them wet (I used two shower caps because the
bulk of the yarn was too much for just one) because the yarn will dread
far to easily.  I also made sure to keep it in a ponytail when I
slept and finger combed it often.
