Hi all, Sorry if this is in category of the dumb-est question of the day, lol,but- Is there a way to *re-coat* hair to keep that *just like new quality*? In taking a break from strand extentions right now, am using His and Her clip -ons - but it seems like you wash them more than once, they go straight to h*ll in a handbasket, frizzy and puffed up, no matter what products or straightening irons I use - (and it's not just the clip ons or His and Her's - seems like this eventually happens after several washings of most hair I've gotten, but maybe it's just me lol!) - I heard that most hair comes w/a silicon coating (?) that makes it look so nice when you first get it, but with washings, the coating comes out and the hair starts getting rattier regardless of what you use on it - is this true? If so, is there a way to *re-do* the coating? - from a bowing-down-i'm-not-worthy

I don't use HH but I've wondered this myself. I think there may be an old thread talking about it briefly when we were also discussing clear cellophanes on natural and extension hair... I'd acutally be more likely to try HH if I thought there was a way to rehab it off my head. Have you tried making your own clip ins out of high quality HH or synth? from what I understand you get better quality with HH that way. And I kow from practice they aren't hard to make. |

I think that the pre made clip ins are made with mediocre hair and that's why they go to sh*t after a few washings. I have used hand tied Bohyme to make my clip ins and I can usually get 7-8 months of wear out of them before they turn nasty. I cant get HH "like new" again but I can usually get it pretty close. I use this for my HH wigs Once a week a do a shampoo and condition, let it air dry, then flat iron it. Then I use proclaim spray on glosser and coat the living sh*t out of it, probably about 20 squirts. after it dries again, I do a light mist with frizz ease silicone spray. I spray a little extra underneath to help keep the strands coated and less likely to tangle. |

I think that sometimes His&Hers hair tends to get knatty really quickly - moreso then the other HH that I have tried. I added shineX to my little hand held steamer and then steamed it. It worked for a few days at least.
