Hi....it's not a stupid question.  Lo/hilights can be done by pulling strands of hair through a cap that has holes already punched in (vinyl, rubber, plastic of 2 layers), or pulled through a plastic cap (one layer) that is tightly secured around the head.  The hair is always dry when pulled through.  Then, the appropriate product is applied to the hair till the desired shade is achieved.

Hair that is woven can be done by taking selected weaves or sliced sections of hair applied with product that are folded into foil, plastic or cups....as well they can be woven/sliced with product applied without being put into foil, plastic or cups.

The hair would of course have to be sectioned appropriately, with the desired amounts of hair to be coloured and care taken to use the correct product/volume developer to achieve the desired result.

Hair can also be braided or banded with elastic to get a desired effect on the hair.

Hope this helps,

Hair2U
