| I have been coloring my dark brown hair a very pretty neutal bright blonde for 4 years. I loved it and my hair was in great shape. I got a wild hair up my butt and went to a salon for heavy strawberry blonde lowlights. Well, they turned out orange. So, the stylist put all over highlift blonde color on my hair to try to lift the red out and then a natural blonde toner to tone it down. Now, I have breakage and yellowish blonde hair with orangy streaks that didn't come out. I just want it toned down. They told me that red fades the quickest and to see how it looks in a week, but they also told me red is the hardest to get out? They offered to do very thin dark blonde lowlights for free next week to try to tone it down if it was still bright. I'm scared to let them do that and I'm scared to put anything else on my hair, it is fried. I have been conditioning the heck out of it but I have breakage. It could be worse but my hair was gorgeous before. My question is...should I let them do lowlights (I'm afraid more color will damage me more) or should I try clarfying shampoo like ABBA Molasses Purifer Shampoo or try mixing baking soda with my regular shampoo? Will that strip out the toner and leave me brighter or remove some of the red/orangy color like I want it too? I don't want to go back to my natural dark brown, I just want my pretty blonde back with as little trauma to my hair as possible. Help! I have family functions and parties coming up and my hair is a wreck! |

I'd say do your hair yourself.Sounds like you had great results with your home dye.Sounds like they dont know what they're doing.I know there are alot of good stylists out there.It just seems to be really hard to find them.Free isnt always good.They could end up leaving your hair worse.I was under the impression that a toner took out the red orange tones?I'm sorry to not give you actual advice.But I really just dont know what to do in this case.All I can say is what I would do if it were my own hair.I would go and get my dye I had good results with and foil in that color over the orange to help break up the unwanted colors.And never go back there .Honestly how do you mess up highlights?-------------

i dont know what shade in hair dye they used for ur highlights but if it was the right shade they didnt leave long enough or they picked the wrong shade for ur bleached hair . dont let them do anything more to ur hair ......if u can go to another salon go to it after a week for ur hair to rest and deep condition like crazy and if u wont go to a salon use the usual dye u use for ur hair and pick the lowlights out and dye them back to match the rest of the hair and i think u might need to trim ur hair to lose the split ends good luck and keep us updated |
