Hey Pinchbraiders.  I've been doing pinchbraids since October (with one big break for an injury).  Anyway, between combing, sectionning and installing it's averaging me three minutes per braid.  I think this seems really slow.  Can you guys ask your installer how long it's taking generally.

I think I read where full heads were taking 2-3 hours, where my work seems to be three hour minimum.   Yikes!!!

Well, it takes Isaac 3 hours or so to do my hair (never as fast as 2 hours), but he's been doing it forever. I'm sure you'll get faster with time. I would think for the first few months or so, it could take up to 7 or 8 hours.

Sheesh.....3 hours seems like luxury to me! It usually takes about 7 hours doing my own head! (Not pinchbraids of course)

3 hours a head? Oh boy no. Takes me at least 6 for a full head. (Tho' I do mean full, like with every single hair except for the part and hairline in braids.) I am a slow braider, I think, but I've been getting a little faster over the years.

I meant three hours for a fill, not a whole head..Thanks a lot you guys.  I was just wondering if I was making decent progress.  It's basically why I charge for the install, not by the hour at the moment;  because, why should someone pay extra for my slowness?

I try to make up for it by serving wine and showing videos.  I find most people will hang out all day if they can watch the tube.  Thanks again.

A whole head is definitely a 5-6 hour process. I guess most stylists just get into a zen about it and braid sort of on auto-pilot. Any client who expects it to be a fast process needs to practice a few pinchbraids.

Scotchy - its been a big hit to let my friends play videogames while doing their hair.  you get so wrapped up in it you dont even realize 4 hours have gone by
