okay, I know most people wash their hair less often with extensions,  okay great, but umm when I do wash I never feel like my scalp is really clean. 

I think part of this is that I can't really scrub the way I do when I don't have my extensions in.  (oh that brief perios of time where I can washmy hair like 12 times scrubbing my scalp with my fingernails as hard as I like)

So I'm wondering
a) am I the only one?
if no
b) any particular shampoos you reccomend for relieving the problem
c) techniques for getting at the little spots under each bond (I feel like the center of the section is the least clean part)
d) help help help?

I'm going to go wild and see if using something carbonated helps some how.

No, you're not the only one.  No one can scrub with extensions.  I usually end up rubbing though, which is probably why I get some breakage.  I just feel like I HAVE to, I can't stop myself.  It's uncontrolable!   As far as shampoos go, your best bet is probably a clarifying or dandruff shampoo, though I wouldn't reccomend this for anyone wearing fusion because both will break down the bond quicker than normal shampoo.

I had terrible dandruff under many of my bonds when I finally took my extensions down, but one thing I do that helps a LOT when I wash, is I have one of those squeeze bottles with the long nozzle you use to apply hair dye - you can get one for a buck at Sally's. I dilute the shampoo to make it easier to squirt, and point the nozzle right under the bonds. Gets the shampoo into all the crannies I cant reach by scrubbing. Try it. :)

Since I shampoo less I use a deep cleasing shapoo twice I think it best to not have alot of oil with shrinks. Then I K-pack the length of the hair to get the moisture back in.

examples of 'deep cleansing shampoo'?

what is a K-pack?

I'll have to try the bottle trick.  I have plenty of them sitting around.

Deep cleansing, clarifying, they're the same.  You can find them at any store that sells shampoo, and many brands make it.  It will say either deep cleansing or clarifying on the bottle. 

K-pak is stuff you put on your hair to moisturize it.  Don't put it on your roots, just the dried out ends (if you need it after the deep clarifying shampoo).

i use and reccommend biolage- either the fortifying or the new volume

wet hair

apply shampoo  lather, take some shampoo on your finger and go in between rows,

let sit

wash body, shave

rinse,

apply conditioner to ends only and a drop on top

shave some more~ (hee hee)

rinse and squeeze h2o out

thats how i do it and it works great, leaving the shampoo in for a bit helps it to break down any oils in hair and leaves it feeling really clean. you can also just shampoo twice too

yeah evidently I already have 'deep cleansing' shampoo.  Clarifying shampoo and the likes of it are my best friend when it comes to removing ill thought out veggie dye episodes.

So I made sure I had tonic water (would much rather use club soda but was pretty sure I had unopened tonic int he house) before going on a 2 hour "I'm gonna get clean and read this whole damn trashy romance novel while I do it" bathing rampage.  But then forgot to actually try it...  For some reason carbonation sounds brilliant to me.  I'll probably be wrong.

I did let the shampoo sit.  twice.  I shaved.  and not surprisingly Taylor and Craig lived happily ever after.  I feel reasonably clean.  However I'm goign to have to work on this plan overall cause I don't really have two hours to wash my hair every week.  And the gym that I finally started going to again (bless the soul who started the diet thread and got my lazy ass up for the first time in a couple of months) seems to have no AC.

Oh well such is the price of beauty

I always use head and shoulders especially when i have extensions... it helps prevent dandruff and it also has that cool minty feeling after washing, i think that definetely helps rather than using fruity smelling products

FYI for anyone with fusion extensions......dandruff shampoo contains an ingredient that speeds up the breakdown of fusion bonds.  Other than that, dandruff shampoo is good for getting rid of anything in your hair that you don't want there!
