hello- I am  going to the beauty supply tomorrow and wanted advice on what kind of shampoo/comditioner you would recommend for  HH extensions. I  have some  really nice Remy clip ins I wear almost every day . I have never washed them. I  did wash an extra piece with some  cheap suave (and it was ok), but do not want to use that and possibly ruin my set or  shorten  the  life. They are currently about 2 months old.

I was thinking  Redken All-soft or CAT. ( I  use antisnap on my own hair, but it made my sample washed extension look yucky.) I also heard something about K-Pak- Joico scares me though- it caused damage to  my own hair a long time ago . I assume I need a moisturizing shampoo.

Just wanted some input. I can get anything at this place since my mom owns a salon.

I  love Matrix Amplify for my own hair- but think that  may be too drying for the extensions. I want my  clip ins to  remain silky smooth and soft and flowing.

Thanks- Julie

Love love love Bed Head Control Freak shampoo & conditioner and also the Loma Peratin line for non-sulfate products. Their hydrating shampoo is creamy and looks like crushed pearls in a bottle. Mmmmmmmmmmmm!

Just bought some Hempz moisturizing shampoo which is nice and the better half just fell in love with American Crew.

I likes the good stuff.

Tell me more about Loma Peratin line.  What products do you like and where do you get them?  Thanks

I like the entire line and I get them locally at a beauty supply store in the mall.

I love the Terax Conditioner, it smells not so good, but works really well if left in for a couple of minutes and rinsed out!

I have worn HH extensions on/off throughout the years, and I have found a few favorites. I really love the Frederic Fekai (spelled wrong?) Ultra moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. It smells awesome and makes my hair, natural and extension, feel really soft and full. It can be found at Sephora or probably online. There is also an almond deep conditioner that I like by the same line. In my experience with HH, you cannot overmoisturize, especially with the blonde colors. So basically anything that is a professional product that says "moisturizing" or for "color-treated hair" should work! I also use a leave-in conditioner on mine, but then again I wash my hair a couple times a week so my extensions are no doubt drier than yours.

I love the whole Kerastase line, especially the Nutritive formulations are awesome. I use the Bain Satin 1 or 2 shampoo and the masqueintense conditioner. Your hair will feel so silky and smooth, really healthy looking.

I also use Redken Extreme, in between, just to change things up.

If I want my hair to smell extra good, I use Aveda Brilliant, deliscious.

For deep condtioning I use Nexxuss Emergencee every 3-4 weeks, it really strengthens your hair and helps split ends from happening.

Thanks for all the input. It was most helpful...now off to shop

My extensions probably don't even  need to be washed. There is no  product in them and I only touch the  ends with a curling iron maybe once a week.I  wear 'em straight.  But it has been about 8 weeks of  almost daily wear and no  wash...Still amazed how great and real they look- esp. for  clip ins.

Probably becausse my own hair is  about the same length- I  just use them for texture and to  grow a layer a bit longer.

oh well...I am  outta here w/ my suggestions in hand.

Have a great day, all.

-Julie
