Well I can't help you with genetics, but just wanted to say hi and welcome! Unfortunately you can't "fix" thickness. The number of hairs per square inch is pre-determined. You can have your hair thinned out with thinning shears, but because your hair is relatively short, that will probably not work out. And it doesn't solve poof.

Poof... well. poof ... it goes away on Day 2 doesn't it? The Conditioner Only washing method, as well as the C-COW-C method, help to minimize poof on the first day. CO takes a lot of adjustment and oftentimes takes a transition through several steps. This is detailed http://anaissatin.freespaces.com/cleansingmethods.html - here . (I hope you meant "Condition [Only], once a week" rather than "condition only once a week" ! ) More information on the Conditioner-Only method can be found through further perusal, or the search function for "Conditioner Only", or this aforementioned page http://anaissatin.freespaces.com/cleansingmethods.html - here  at Medusa.

Hugs and blessings

Anais

It could just be, though, that your hair might kinda grow in weird directions in some places like mine does.  In that case, no amount of hair product will ever make it go down and stay like it should :-( .  All you can do if your hair grows weirdly is try different styles to see which one it behaves the best in, I guess.

I'm trying to figure out why you think I would think your hair was nasty-looking.

I'd tell you the same thing that I tell curly-haired people who claim life is not worth living without straight hair: learn to work with the hair you have and stop trying to make it be somebody else's hair.

Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?
