Hi all,
I have very thick, wavy, clairol blonde hair that I just cut 13" off of so now it's almost to my shoulders (about 2 1/2" from my chin) with bangs. We left it long enough on the sides so I can pull it back into a tiny ponytail but it looks ridiculous that way! The more I cut , the curlier it gets and now it looks bushy cut straight across. We did razor the ends to reduce bulk but it's still bulky. If I layer the sides , will it just curl up to nothing? Any suggestions on what to do? I tried a frizz ease product that just left it limp. Thanks for any ideas!

First of all, a big congrats for donating to locks of love.  That's really awesome.

As for the curl, it's all in the cut.  It sounds like you need a new hairstylist who knows how to cut thick, wavy, curly hair.  Ask salons if they have anyone who specializes in curly hair.  OR you could ask if any stylist HAS curly hair, then get a free consultation.  That's your best bet to find a good stylist who knows what to do with curly hair.  Forget the salons that offer $13 haircuts, you may need to pay more and find a better salon, but your hair will thank you.

You had dyed hair and they accepted the donation? They say right in the instructions that colored hair is unusable as a donation.

Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

Thanks for the curly haircut advice....asking a stylist who HAS curly hair sounds like the way to go. I happen to be in a very small town and not much to chose from.

As to locksoflove.org/donate it says "Hair may be colored or permed but not bleached or chemically damaged".
