I'm pretty sure that while you will want to take some meausres to remove them for appearances sake (scroll back some ans SAS has a huge post about processing raw hair), that since the hair has been off of a head for well over the possible lifetime of the nits that you are safe.  or as long as you can chemically treat them even if you can't pry every last one off you are safe.  if the hair has already been treated then you don't need to treat it again just comb them out.  Lice need a body to feed on not just hair to live in.  anyhow what you see is probably just the little shell they used to be in.

and yeah its gross but how many threads are there saying the same thing.  evidently its just normal normal normal.

Mocha is absolutely correct. It is most likely just the left over shell that lice hatch from. Lice cannot live off the human head for any length of time. And its very common to find nits in indian hair. Its just one of the realities of purchasing this beautiful hair. I think Id rather find a few nit shells, and have beautiful healthy hair, than to buy over processed dried out hair that will be crappy in a week!

Is there some kind of comb that you can buy that will remove the nit shells without having to pick at them? I'd love to purchase RK's hair, but I'm not into having to groom hair that I buy.

If you search for "nits," you'll find all of the info. SAS posted about treating raw hair, etc. There's no risk you'll get lice, because they're all dead by the time the hair has arrived to you. That said, I'm sure all HH for trade has been exposed to lice/nits at one point or another--whether you remove them or the company does. It just comes with the territory.

Rae~ The best comb to use is a kitten flea comb. I use the small
metal one to remove nits and with my nails. I never use the
combs that come in the lice treatment boxes as they are always
way too big and don't work very well.

Thanks for the info SaS.I am waiting for my order from RK And expected it to have some nits (itching just thinking about it,lol) and I was just going to buy one of those regular lice combs. But The kitten flea comb is an excellent idea.
