Hey! I want to cut my hair. Nothing major, I just want bangs. Side bangs to be exact. I have pretty thick shoulder length hair, that isn't layered. Is it hard to cut hair? I've done some trimming before, but not bangs. I just need some tips. Don't bother telling me it's not a good idea because I will most likely do it anyways. Thanx <3

Part your hair carefully before cutting. (if you're doing "sideswept" bangs, then obviously part your hair to the side and not the middle) Use a clip to hold the non-bang hair in place, so nothing gets in your way. Start slow. Decide how much you want to cut off, then decide again, THEN cut. (the old "measure twice cut once" mat-cutting technique

The most important thing! Do it little by little. Start with a 1/4 inch, then make sure you got it right before continuing with the next 1/4 or 1/2 inch.

Good luck!

Very important, if you cut them wet, make sure you leave them 1/4-1/2" longer than you think you need-- hair draws up when it dries, so it's really easy to accidentally cut them too short.
