Hi all, newbie here. I have long curly hair (dry and medium texture, plus a
ton of it). It has (or had) loose ringlets. My favorite product (and the only
one which ever worked) was Sebastian's (or Wella) "Texturizer." Years ago
they changed the ingredients (and I believe removed the alcohol and
other ingredients). I have tried everything and now I can't stand to look in
the mirror. I've come close to looking like the old me, but my hair was so
stiff it drove me nuts (not to mention it did not move at all). Ouidad
actually works as a great straightener for me. My hair won't speak to me
for a week if I use Redken, KMS & Graham Webb... Unfortunately, Phyto is
another product I can't use and for any flyaways, John Frieda is a no go.
I've used so many products searching for the "right" one that I couldn't
list them all. I've used Sebastian's Potion 9 for years and my hair loves it.
It also loves Finessee and Herbal Essences (that's the only good news). I
don't brush. I use a diffuser. I try cold water. I flip my head upside down
and have read any book I can find. It loves gel and most products will
hold it for a an hour and then drop the curl in areas.Yikes! Sorry so long.
Thanks for reading! Can anyone help?

Ummmm, what are you trying to get your curly hair to do? You mentioned straightening it. Do you want to straighten it everyday? That would damage your lovely long hair. Do you want a curly look? Ouidad has a wide range of products for curls, you could check out their website. It sounds like you need a good gel, and then a good hairspray to hold the curl.

Thanks for responding. Hopefully I can clarify what I was trying to say. I
rarely ever straighten my hair. Ever since Sebastian changed their
Laminates ProActiv Texturizer my hair has been lifeless. I've tried so many
brands, but nothing has worked. My hair hated Ouidad and it actually
straightened it. Right now I'm trying Phyto (gel 8) plus one of their
antifrizz products & Potion 9. I so want my curls to behave the way they
use to. I'm trying to get a soft, controlled curl, but have not had any luck.
I miss my ringlets :(. Any advice? Thanks!
