I like the wand on the right as i think you can do more with it.  The one on the left is flat plates which i think is more for flat bonds or to bond on wefts.  The wand on the right can be used to pre-tip loose hair, can be used with nail hair etc.

Which one would you use for heat seals?

IIRC one of those has a variable temperature, and the other doesn't. I'd recommend the one with the adjustable temperature control, as you can play around with it more and have greater control over the heat.

They both have adjustable heat settings in the form of a dial. The one below has a special box built into the cord (I brought it up front in the photo so that's what you're seeing on the left of the pic). The first wand has the temperature control built inside. Its dial is on top of the unit.

Yes with PH, laura.

the flat one.  I got it from Doc's.

My husband and I are boxbraiding for about 5 switches of my hair.  then he sticks it with spirit gum while I hold onto everything.  then he separates a little bit of the synth in one side of the strand and wraps that for a few zillion turns, then 15 seconds with the wand.  flip the wand 15 seconds on the other side.   the flip is becaise the wand doesn't heat perfectly even on the two sides.
